The Social Media Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day planning, coordination, execution, and optimization of social media initiatives across multiple brands and business units. This role serves as a key owner of social media strategy execution, agency coordination, content planning, local engagement, and performance reporting.
Working closely with internal teams, field locations, business stakeholders, and external agency partners, the Social Media Specialist ensures social media supports broader marketing priorities, drives audience engagement, highlights local activity, and strengthens the organization's digital presence across relevant channels.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Channel Management
- Lead social media planning and execution across multiple brands and associated social platforms.
- Manage and maintain social content calendars aligned with marketing priorities, promotional initiatives, seasonal events, and relevant consumer moments.
- Ensure social media activity supports overarching business objectives while remaining relevant to individual brands and audiences.
- Identify opportunities for new content, campaigns, platform features, and emerging social media best practices.
- Monitor changes in social platforms and recommend opportunities to improve engagement and reach.
Agency Management & Coordination
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for external social media and creative agency partners.
- Develop and distribute recurring social media briefs outlining upcoming priorities, campaigns, promotions, and content requirements.
- Manage agency timelines, deliverables, review cycles, and approvals.
- Review social assets, content calendars, and creative recommendations to ensure alignment with brand standards and business objectives.
- Provide clear feedback and strategic direction to agency partners to improve content quality, relevance, and performance.
- Coordinate multiple agency workstreams while ensuring projects remain on schedule.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- 3–5 years of experience in social media marketing, digital marketing, content planning, agency management, or a related discipline.
- Experience managing external agency relationships and creative review processes.
- Experience owning social media content calendars and developing performance reports.
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
- Knowledge of social media analytics, reporting tools, and performance measurement.
- Strong project management, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple brands, stakeholders, projects, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage projects from planning through execution.
- Ability to translate business objectives and performance data into actionable social media strategies.
