This role sits at the intersection of editorial and commerce, covering the products, deals, trends, and just-announced shopping news that matter most to collectors, hobbyists, and geeks. You'll help readers discover what's worth buying, what's worth skipping, and what's about to sell out.

What You'll Do
- Write daily commerce stories covering collectibles, toys, games, merchandise, and hobby culture.
- Cover breaking shopping news, including product launches, preorders, restocks, limited editions, retailer exclusives, and major sales events.
- Write listicles, gift guides, deals posts, and product reviews that genuinely help readers make informed purchasing decisions.
- Stay on top of trending franchises including Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Pokémon, Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, anime, LEGO, Funko, Hasbro, Mattel, McFarlane Toys, Bandai, and more.
- Monitor social media, PR releases, collector communities, conventions, retailer announcements, and industry news to identify emerging stories before competitors.
- Optimize stories for search while maintaining ComicBook.com's editorial voice and journalistic standards.
- Update evergreen content to keep recommendations timely, accurate, and competitive.
- Work closely with editors to identify coverage opportunities tied to major entertainment releases, gaming events, and pop culture moments.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience writing commerce, entertainment, gaming, or hobby-focused content.
- Deep knowledge of collectible culture and the fandom ecosystem.
- Strong news judgment and the ability to move quickly without sacrificing accuracy.
- Excellent writing skills with a conversational, authoritative voice.
- Experience writing SEO-driven content and understanding search intent.
- Familiarity with affiliate commerce best practices is a plus.
- Ability to juggle multiple assignments while working with autonomy, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus Points
- You've attended conventions like Comic-Con, New York Comic Con, WonderCon, or Star Wars Celebration.
- You're active in collector communities or have firsthand experience collecting.
- You understand preorder culture, aftermarket pricing, rarity, and what drives collector demand.
- You have several clips in the space.
- You enjoy spotting shopping trends before they become mainstream.
Success in This Role
The ideal candidate is equal parts journalist, shopping expert, and fan. You know which products deserve the hype, which releases collectors are actually talking about, and how to translate that enthusiasm into trustworthy editorial that serves readers while driving meaningful commerce revenue.
