Company Description:
In 2017, our founder Hannah Awada was invited to a dumpling party in Shanghai. Being Lebanese, she showed up with hummus.
At a dumpling party halfway around the world, the hummus became the thing everyone talked about.
Back home, she looked for hummus made the way her family made it: with olive oil, fresh garlic and real lemon juice. She couldn't find it.
So in 2019 she started making it herself in a rented church kitchen in Michigan.
Today Hummus Goodness is one of the fastest-growing refrigerated hummus brands in the country.
We've built a product people love.
Now we're looking for someone to build the community that deserves it.
This is NOT Your Standard Job Posting
We could hire someone to fill a content calendar. That's not what we need.
Social media is not our goal. Building the most trusted hummus brand in America is.
Social is one of the ways we earn that trust.
Our shopper is a mom running a household. She makes the grocery decisions and feeds people who are busy, picky and hungry, including herself. She wants real food without the prep, and she doesn't need another brand talking at her. She needs a place where she gets a genuinely useful idea for Tuesday dinner, sees other women doing the same thing, and comes to trust that we're on her side.
Your job is to build that place.
That means comments and DMs are the work, not the chore after the work. It means knowing what she asked last month and answering it in a post this month. It means understanding the difference between a post that gets a like and a post that gets saved- and knowing why only one of those matters.
What You'll Own
Community Management. Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest. You'll answer, engage, remember, and follow up. You'll build real relationships with the women who show up, and bring what they tell us back to the rest of the company. Their questions should shape more than our captions.
Content Planning Cretaion. You'll plan content monthly and have a calendar set out to grow and engage the community. You'll shoot, cut, and caption your own short-form video. Every piece has to clear a simple test: would she save it, share it, or actually use it this week?
Creator & Influencer. UGC creator search, negotiations and contracting to support the feed - moms, kids, regional launches. Includes creators and influencers, content briefs, feedback, edits and collaborations.
Brand Stewardship. Everything we create should reinforce what makes Hummus Goodness different: authentic Lebanese roots, real ingredients, bold flavors that make healthy eating exciting, more ways to use hummus than most people realize, and a brand families trust.
Drive To Retail. Trust doesn't end online. If she can't find us in the refrigerated case, all that great content stops short. Beautiful content that doesn't help shoppers discover where to buy us is a missed opportunity, and closing that gap is part of this role. This also includes supporting retailer specific launches with focused content plans.
Testing and learning. You'll constantly test hooks, formats, posting times, creator styles, recipes and calls to action. Winning ideas become repeatable systems. Losing ideas get retired quickly.
What Success Looks Like:
- A community that grows because people genuinely recommend us.
- Content creation that's saved and shared because it's useful and on trend
- Comments and DMs answered quickly with warmth and personality.
- Every major retail launch supported with a thoughtful social plan.
- A steady stream of evergreen recipes and usage ideas that continue performing long after they're posted.
- Monthly insights shared with the marketing team that influence future campaigns and business decisions.
- Continuous experimentation with clear learnings and measurable improvements.
Most importantly...People begin to trust Hummus Goodness before they ever buy their first container.
You're Probably Right for This if:
- You've built a community around a consumer brand in food, beverage or CPG, and can show the difference you made.
- You create your own short-form video and have a strong eye for food styling and photography.
- You write with warmth, clarity and personality.
- You're genuinely fascinated by how families eat, shop and make decisions.
- You notice what people ask.
- You love figuring out why a post worked.
- You enjoy working on a small, fast-moving team where your ideas can become reality this week instead of next quarter.
- Your driven and work well independently, this is your feed to own and grow
You're Probably NOT Right for This if:
- You want to hand execution to an agency and manage the relationship
- Community management sounds like the boring part
- You need a big budget and a big team to do good work

Location: Birmingham, MI
If you're excited about building relationships instead of chasing algorithms...
If you'd rather create content people actually use than content people scroll past...
We'd love to meet you.
How to Apply:
Send your resume, a link to social work you're proud of, and instead of a cover letter, include one paragraph on this:
Pick one of our seven flavors. Tell us the single piece of content you'd make for it, who it's for, and why she'd save it.
Short is fine. We're reading for how you think about her, not how much you can write.
