Associate Designer / Product Developer
Temp-to-Permanent Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Designer with experience in fashion design and product development. This role will support the design and development process from concept through production and is ideal for someone who is proactive, organized, and excited to help build and grow a licensed apparel brand.
Responsibilities
- Assist with seasonal design concepts, color, fabric, trim, and product development
- Create and update CADs, tech packs, line sheets, and presentation materials
- Communicate with vendors and follow up on samples, approvals, and development timelines
- Track product development status and help ensure deadlines are met
- Review samples for design accuracy, quality, fit, and construction
- Support the team with daily design and product development needs
Qualifications
- Degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, or a related field
- Previous experience in apparel design or product development, with strong knowledge of silhouettes, fit, fabric, trims, garment construction, and quality
- Experience working with licensed brands required; experience developing product for Costco or other major retailers is a plus
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with the ability to create clear CADs, tech packs, and presentation materials
- Strong organization, communication, follow-up, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet development deadlines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Must be a proactive self-starter, team player, and go-getter who is willing to take initiative
- Portfolio showcasing apparel design, technical packages, and finished product
- Ability to work on-site in Manhattan in a fast-paced environment
