Our Agency client is seeking an experienced Associate Creative Director (ACD) or Copy Supervisor-level Healthcare (HCP) Copywriter to support a high-priority pharmaceutical assignment. This freelance opportunity is ideal for a senior-level pharma writer with deep agency experience, exceptional long-form writing skills, and expertise developing fully annotated, MLR-ready content. The ideal candidate has a proven background creating HCP-focused promotional and educational materials within a pharmaceutical advertising agency, understands the nuances of regulated healthcare communications, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Experience supporting pharmaceutical launches is a plus.
- Rate: $75/hr.
- Location: Remote. Eastern Time preferred; New York / New Jersey-area candidates strongly preferred due to potential onsite collaboration
Responsibilities:
- Develop compelling, scientifically accurate long-form HCP promotional and educational content across print, digital, and omnichannel campaigns.
- Write fully annotated, reference-backed copy that is MLR-ready and compliant with pharmaceutical industry standards.
- Translate complex clinical data into clear, engaging messaging for healthcare professional audiences.
- Collaborate closely with medical, strategy, account, and creative teams throughout concept development and execution.
- Ensure all content aligns with regulatory, legal, medical, and brand guidelines.
- Participate in content reviews and revisions while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Provide senior-level creative thinking and mentorship while contributing strategically to high-profile pharmaceutical initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of copywriting experience within a pharmaceutical advertising agency.
- Experience at the Associate Creative Director (ACD) or Copy Supervisor level.
- Extensive experience writing for Healthcare Professional (HCP) audiences.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional long-form pharmaceutical writing.
- Proven ability to create fully annotated, reference-supported, MLR-ready copy.
- Deep understanding of FDA regulations, the MLR review process, and pharmaceutical compliance.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific and clinical information.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional agency teams including Medical, Strategy, Creative, and Account.
- Availability to work Eastern Time business hours.
- New York-area candidates preferred due to the possibility of occasional onsite meetings.
- Product launch experience is a plus.
