A leading global investment firm is seeking an experienced writing advisor to join its Learning & Development (L&D) function, which empowers employees at all levels through targeted educational programs. The internal writing center delivers workshops, tailored coaching sessions, and guidance to help staff elevate their written communication for a range of professional contexts. Writing advisors collaborate closely with colleagues across business units, gaining an in-depth understanding of the organization’s diverse functions, all within an engaging and supportive workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized coaching to employees in varied roles—ranging from junior staff to senior leadership—supporting the development of clear and effective business, financial, and technical documents.
- Partner with teams to consult on sophisticated written projects and strategic proposals.
- Mentor colleagues in crafting and refining materials that reflect the organization’s high expectations and demanding writing standards.
Ideal Background & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years’ experience coaching or teaching writing at the advanced academic or corporate level.
- Must have in house experience at a corporate company.
- Proven ability to analyze, critique, and offer constructive feedback on complex professional, financial, and technical texts—even outside your core area of expertise.
- Outstanding command of both written and spoken English, strong analytical aptitude, sound judgment, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Capable of maintaining strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive information.
- Demonstrated familiarity with AI-powered writing tools, including supporting others in integrating such technologies into their writing practices, is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of composition pedagogy, rhetoric, and the principles of writing center work is desirable.
- Prior experience supporting STEM professionals or graduate-level individuals is considered an asset.
The annual base salary range is $120,000 to $180,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
