Marketing/Creative - Marketing Manager
Comments:While prior professional experience managing Reddit communities is preferred, candidates with extensive personal Reddit experience will also be considered. This includes individuals who are highly active Redditors, moderators, or owners of active subreddits, provided they also have experience managing social media for a brand or company.
This six-month temporary position will support community management and community engagement strategy for clinet flagship social media accounts, with a specific focus on Reddit. The position reports to the Sr. Director, Social Media and Content Integration.
The contractor will help establish client brand presence on Reddit through copywriting, content development, social listening, community engagement, stakeholder interaction, and enterprise-wide collaboration to support community growth and business goals.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Reddit’s unique culture and community dynamics, allowing them to effectively manage client brand presence, navigate brand reputation risks, and participate authentically within Reddit communities.
Responsibilities
- Support community management, planning, and execution of client Reddit social media strategy and editorial calendar.
- Coordinate with internal teams and agencies to develop and implement timely and engaging social media content.
- Facilitate relationships with Editorial, Strategic Communications, Customer Care, and External Relations teams.
- Ensure a consistent client brand voice across social media platforms.
- Collaborate with marketing managers and strategists on paid media campaigns and creative development.
- Support community engagement efforts alongside customer care and social response teams.
- Track growth metrics and provide regular performance reporting.
Tasks
- Develop accurate and engaging social media content in collaboration with internal teams.
- Create and publish posts and community responses across Reddit and other channels.
- Monitor relevant subreddits and engage where appropriate.
- Identify opportunities for client to contribute value through initiatives such as AMAs.
- Maintain editorial calendars using Airtable and related tools.
- Provide strategic input for paid social campaigns and ensure platform best practices.
- Manage paid campaign trackers in Asana and coordinate campaign execution.
- Track KPIs and analyze performance metrics to improve engagement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of experience managing social media platforms for agencies or large organizations.
- Proven experience managing or growing Reddit communities.
- Strong understanding of Reddit culture, community dynamics, and engagement strategies.
- Experience with paid social media strategies, especially on Reddit, preferred.
- Expertise in social media content strategy, copywriting, and community growth.
- Ability to analyze data and audience metrics to drive growth.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills in complex organizations.
- Experience with social media tools such as Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Talkwalker, Reddit Pro Trends, Airtable, and Asana.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Preferred candidate located in the Washington D.C. metro area, though remote candidates will also be considered.
