We are looking for a Cinematographer for low budget film sets on a contract basis. Have a hands on role to help shape the look design and feel of the image based on the story with small team that lacks experience.
Helping to build out shot lists and storyboards, on set decision making, camera control and lighting execution.
Additionally for times that we are not shooting you will have the option to earn some revenue by creating short form UGC style content for Instagram and TikTok where you sit in front of the camera and talk about parts of indie films and what they do well. This is a way to give you more work for when we aren’t actively working on a film.
Freelance Cinematographer (Contract / Per Project)
We’re a brand-new indie group looking for a cinematographer who loves storytelling and wants to help shape the visual identity of our films.
This is a freelance, per-project role for low-budget narrative productions. We have a small team of an actor, a writer/director, and an editor working to create for fun.
What You’ll Do
* Collaborate with the director to develop the visual style of each project.
* Help create shot lists, storyboards, and camera plans during pre-production.
* Make creative decisions on set regarding framing, camera movement, and coverage.
* Operate camera and help execute lighting setups.
* Work closely with a small crew where everyone wears multiple hats.
Bonus Opportunity Between Film Projects
When we’re not actively working on a film, you’ll have the option to earn additional income by creating short-form content for our Instagram and TikTok. Think talking-head videos discussing cinematography, indie filmmaking, memorable scenes, filmmaking techniques, and what makes certain films work.
Who We’re Looking For
* Someone passionate about filmmaking and visual storytelling.
* Comfortable working on small, collaborative sets.
* Has experience operating cameras and lighting (professional or personal projects both count).
* Enjoys creative problem-solving.
* Reliable, easy to work with, and excited to work on fun passion projects.
