Day to Day:
In this role, the Technical Writer will spend the majority of their time working within a software environment, partnering closely with engineers and subject matter experts to deeply understand system behaviour, APIs, and product functionality. They will gather requirements through stakeholder interviews and hands-on exploration of the product, often working directly with customer-facing developer tooling and interfaces. A core focus will be translating this into clear, structured, and maintainable documentation, including user guides and knowledge base articles, ensuring accuracy, usability, and alignment with how end users and developers interact with the system. Alongside this, around 30% of their time will be more project management focused, taking ownership of coordinating content across teams, managing document lifecycles, tracking versions and updates, and ensuring all content remains aligned and up to date. They will also support broader technical marketing initiatives, partnering with Product Managers to contribute to data sheets, case studies, video content, and white papers, acting as a central point of contact to ensure all content is delivered on time and to a consistently high standard.
