About the Role

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Content Editor & Producer (Video & Photo) to join our content team.

This role is primarily focused on editing and post-production, while also requiring hands-on experience capturing professional video and photography content. The ideal candidate understands the complete content creation process—from capturing quality footage to editing and delivering polished, social-first content.

The Content Editor & Producer will collaborate closely with the Lead Content Producer and creative team to create engaging content for a variety of clients. This role requires someone who understands storytelling, pacing, visual composition, typography, captions, social media trends, and how to create content that captures and maintains audience attention.

Successful social media content requires more than technical editing skills—it requires creativity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to adapt content for different brands, audiences, and platforms.

Responsibilities

- Editing & Post-Production

- Edit short-form video content for platforms including - Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.

- Transform raw footage into engaging, story-driven content with strong pacing and structure.

- Create edits that incorporate hooks, captions, transitions, sound design, music, and platform-specific best practices.

- Utilize typography, captions, and on-screen graphics strategically to enhance storytelling, improve viewer retention, and create engaging social media content.

- Understand how text placement, timing, font choices, and visual elements impact the effectiveness of short-form content.

- Color grade footage and deliver polished, client-ready edits.

- Edit and prepare photography content for social media and marketing deliverables.

- Organize and manage footage, project files, and media assets.

- Complete revisions based on internal feedback and client requests.

- Ensure final content aligns with brand standards and creative direction.

Content Production

- Capture professional photo and video content using DSLR and mirrorless camera systems.

- Assist with client shoots and production days as needed.

- Capture supplemental footage, behind-the-scenes content, and additional creative assets.

- Understand camera operation, lighting, composition, and shot selection.

- Support the Lead Content Producer and Junior Content Producer throughout the production process.

- Assist in ensuring all necessary content is captured during production.

Creative Collaboration

- Stay current with social media trends, editing styles, trending audio, and platform updates.

- Identify opportunities to improve content performance through creative editing decisions.

- Contribute ideas for content concepts, storytelling approaches, and creative direction.

- Collaborate with the creative team to execute high-quality client deliverables.

Required Qualifications

- Professional experience capturing and editing both video and photography content.

- Experience shooting with professional DSLR or mirrorless cameras.

- Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve (preferred editing software).

- Experience using creative tools including:Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects preferred), CapCut, Instagram Edits, Adobe Lightroom Classic, Other industry-standard creative software, Strong understanding of video editing, storytelling, pacing, composition, lighting, and visual communication.

- Experience creating content specifically for social media platforms.

- Understanding of short-form content trends and platform best practices.

- Strong understanding of typography, captions, and visual elements used in social media content.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

- Ability to receive creative direction while bringing new ideas to the team.

- Strong communication and organizational skills.

- Reliable transportation.

Technical Requirements

- Must have access to a reliable editing workstation capable of running professional editing software to support a hybrid work environment.

- Preferred workstation specifications can be discussed during the interview process.

- Must be comfortable managing and editing projects remotely.

Bonus Qualifications

- FAA Part 107 Drone Certification.

- Experience capturing commercial drone footage.

- Access to professional camera equipment and willingness to use personal equipment when appropriate.

- Experience with motion graphics, animation, or advanced visual effects.

- Experience creating high-performing social media content.

- Strong video and photography portfolio.
