Design Manager/Creative Director
Hybrid on site in Sherman Oaks
We’re seeking a Creative Director for a fast-paced consumer beauty and personal care brand environment. This role is ideal for a design leader who thinks in complete brand systems, from packaging structure and print finishes to ecommerce, retail presence, paid media, and social storytelling. You will help shape a cohesive visual language that connects every customer touchpoint while balancing high-level vision with hands-on execution.
You will partner closely with senior marketing and creative stakeholders to translate brand positioning into compelling, commercially effective design. The right person brings deep packaging expertise, strong digital fluency, and a refined sense of how playful, sensorial, trend-aware branding comes to life across physical and digital channels.
This is a high-velocity creative environment with frequent launches and multiple concurrent priorities. Success in this role requires strong creative instincts, operational discipline, and the ability to maintain exceptional quality while moving quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the brand design system across packaging, digital, print, retail, and paid channels.
- Lead structural and graphic packaging design from concept through production-ready delivery.
- Translate brand and product strategy into clear, distinctive creative direction.
- Partner cross-functionally with marketing, product development, copy, studio, and project management teams.
- Ensure consistency and design integrity across ecommerce, in-store, social, and campaign assets.
- Drive creative direction for product launches, seasonal campaigns, and innovation initiatives.
- Contribute to performance-oriented creative for paid media, including concepting for static and motion assets.
- Lead, mentor, and review the work of a small design team, maintaining a high bar for craft and execution.
- Manage multiple projects at once and support efficient creative review and delivery workflows.
- Operate with a flexible, solutions-oriented mindset in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Requirements
- 8+ years of design experience, with significant strength in packaging for beauty, personal care, or consumer goods.
- 3+ years in a creative lead, art direction, or director-level role with team leadership responsibility.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating packaging excellence, brand systems thinking, and polished execution.
- Deep knowledge of materials, finishes, dielines, print production, and vendor coordination.
- Ability to create and maintain cohesive brand architecture across multiple channels and product lines.
- Strong digital design sensibility across ecommerce, paid media, and social platforms.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
- Excellent communication, organization, and creative feedback skills.
- Proven ability to deliver strong creative work in a fast-moving launch environment.
- Comfort working collaboratively across creative, marketing, and operational functions.
