Freelance Faith-Based Copywriter Position
40 hours/week maximum
What This Job Is All About:We’re looking for a detail-oriented, adaptable writer to join our marketing team. As a Freelance Faith-Based Copywriter, you’ll focus on writing social media and marketing copy for nonprofit clients, including faith-based organizations, helping them communicate clearly, consistently, and with purpose.
This role is writing-focused. You’ll spend most of your time crafting captions, campaign copy, and short-form content, with some light involvement in social media scheduling and account management.
You won’t be expected to wear every hat. We have a team of designers, video editors, and strategists who will support execution and direction. Your role is to take messaging and turn it into strong, clear, and engaging content that aligns with each client’s voice. We will provide platform, tool, and workflow training.
What You’ll Do:
Write Social Media & Marketing Copy:You’ll write captions and short-form content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms, translating client messaging, campaigns, and updates into clear and engaging posts.
Create Faith-Based & Devotional Content:You’ll write content that aligns with Christian audiences, including devotional-style captions, scripture-based messaging, and reflective or inspirational copy that works across non-denominational and Wesleyan/Methodist contexts.
Support Content Scheduling & Account Management:You’ll assist with scheduling posts and managing basic platform tasks, ensuring content is uploaded correctly and on time. This role does not include community management.
Use Data to Guide Your Writing: You’ll work with the strategy team to check analytics to understand what’s working and tweak your copywriting to match. We use Sked for scheduling and reporting.
Keep an Eye on Trends & SEO: You’ll research what’s trending in the nonprofit and social media world, and use keywords and SEO tools to guide your writing.
What You’ll Need:
- C2-level English proficiency (near-native or native writing fluency)
- Strong writing and proofreading skills
- Ability to write faith-based or Christian-aligned content in a way that is respectful, accessible, and audience-aware
- Interest in nonprofit communications, storytelling, and mission-driven work
- Experience in writing, copywriting, or social media
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Christian language, tone, and scripture-based messaging across denominations
- A degree in English, Communications, or a related field is appreciated but not required.
- Experience in Sked Social, Asana, Google Workspace, Notion, and SEM Rush is appreciated but not required.
