As the
Senior Packaging Designer, you will lead the creative vision and strategic execution of packaging across all beauty product categories. You will balance artistic excellence with AI-driven workflows and sustainable design principles, turning breakthrough creative concepts into manufacturable reality.
Responsibilities:
Creative Direction & Strategy
- Lead the packaging design strategy across multiple product categories (eye, lip, and face).
- Develop cohesive design systems and maintain the brand's Packaging Design Rulebook to ensure brand consistency.
- Design high-impact, viral "unboxing experiences" by blending consumer trends with creative storytelling.
- Utilize traditional design programs alongside advanced AI tools (e.g., Adobe Firefly) to accelerate concept workflows.
Execution & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Oversee the end-to-end design process for new launches, redesigns, and limited editions from initial 2D/3D rendering to final production.
- Partner closely with Engineering and Operations to optimize packaging manufacturability, material efficiency, and print techniques.
- Collaborate across Marketing, Regulatory, and Product Development teams to align creative vision with business goals.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and external agency/freelance talent.
Sustainability & Trend Leadership
- Pioneer eco-conscious packaging solutions, utilizing circular design, eco-materials, and recyclable structures.
- Stay ahead of industry shifts in beauty, sustainable tech, and AI tools to keep the brand cutting-edge.
Role Requirements:
Technical Skills & Tools
- AI Design Fluency: Advanced skills in prompt engineering and generative design platforms (e.g., Adobe Firefly).
- Design Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and modern 3D rendering tools.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial print processes, materials, and production constraints.
- Eco-Design Expertise: Practical knowledge of sustainable materials, recycling capabilities, and circular design principles.
Professional Skills
- Communication & Influence: Proven ability to present bold design concepts to corporate stakeholders and build cross-functional consensus.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple timelines, project budgets, and production deadlines simultaneously.
- Adaptability: Ability to quickly adopt and integrate into proprietary internal enterprise software and creative platforms.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of dedicated packaging design experience, ideally within the beauty, cosmetics, luxury goods, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visualization skills, 2D/3D rendering capabilities, and examples of commercialized sustainable packaging design.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Packaging Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or a related creative/technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Preferred: A background or technical coursework in packaging engineering or manufacturing.
