Role Description
Roundtable Sports and GJD Enterprises LLC are seeking a Trending Sports Writer for a freelance contract-based, hybrid or remote role in the greater Chicago area. You'll produce timely, engaging content covering the Northwestern Wildcats, with a focus on college football, men's basketball and women's basketball. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching trending topics, writing compelling articles on deadline and engaging with and growing our sports community.
Qualifications
- Strong background in sports journalism with in-depth knowledge of college football and basketball
- Ability to craft clear, engaging content with an understanding of SEO best practices
- Self-starter who can generate story ideas, meet deadlines and self-edit before publishing
- Enthusiasm for building and expanding the Roundtable Sports community
- On-site reporting, interviewing, or on-camera experience is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred
