About the Role
This position will oversee the technical product development process, ensuring consistency in fit, construction, and quality across assigned product categories. The Technical Designer will be responsible for developing apparel specifications, leading fittings, collaborating cross-functionally, and communicating directly with vendors throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
• Own fit, construction, and quality from development through production
• Lead fittings and provide detailed fit comments to vendors
• Create and maintain tech packs, specs, and product documentation
• Partner with Product Development to track approvals and timelines
• Attend weekly meetings with Merchandising, Design, and Product Development teams
• Support and step in for the Lead Technical Designer as needed
• Mentor and assist junior technical design team members
• Troubleshoot fit and construction issues and provide solutions
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Technical Design, Pattern Making, or Quality Assurance
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, and fabric performance
• Ability to lead fittings and make independent decisions
• Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Excel, and Word
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
