Cheeky is looking for a Social Media Manager to help lead day-to-day management and community engagement for a genre entertainment social account focused on horror. You’ll work closely with our strategy, creative, and copy teams to bring campaigns to life across social platforms while helping the brand actively participate in horror culture and online conversation.

This job is remote, with a preference for applicants based in the Los Angeles metro area.
What You’ll Do
Your role is to work with the Cheeky team to bring social strategy to life through thoughtful content planning, publishing, and community engagement while contributing insights that help the brand show up in meaningful ways within horror culture.
- Support the execution of social strategy in collaboration with Cheeky’s leadership
- Plan and manage the social editorial calendar across platforms
- Contribute to ideation for monthly content calendars and reactive social concepts that tap into horror fandom and cultural conversation
- Lead client-facing meetings, status calls, and day-to-day communications
- Work closely with Cheeky’s creative team (designers, editors, copywriters and motion designers) to coordinate content production and delivery timelines
- Review and quality-check deliverables to ensure they meet agency and client standards
- Manage day-to-day publishing of social content across platforms
- Conduct community moderation and engagement across social channels while maintaining the established brand voice
- Monitor conversations within horror fandom and broader internet culture to identify opportunities for the brand to participate in relevant moments
- Occasional on-site content capture (light, mobile-based)
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience managing social media accounts for brands, studios, agencies, or entertainment properties
- Strong understanding of platform strategy across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads and X
- Excellent writing instincts with the ability to adapt voice and tone across different platforms
- Experience managing social calendars and social publishing workflows
- Familiarity with social analytics and the ability to translate performance data into actionable insights is a plus
- Experience engaging with online communities and moderating social conversations
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and project management skills
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, fully remote team environment
- A genuine interest in horror films, genre fandom, and pop culture is strongly preferred
Duration
Initial freelance contract beginning May 2026, with the goal of transitioning into a full-time role for the right candidate.
Candidates must be available for collaboration during core PT business hours.
Compensation
$300–$350/day DOE (contract)
