Vice President, Social Media & Audience Expansion
Streaming Entertainment Brand seeking experienced digital leader to serve as Vice President, Social Media & Audience Expansion for a leading premium entertainment brand. This executive will own the vision and roadmap for how the company’s brand and content grow, engage, and retain audiences across social platforms and the broader digital landscape.
The VP will combine deep platform expertise with a growth mindset, transforming social from a set of publishing channels into a powerful engine for discovery, fandom, and measurable business impact. This role is ideal for a strategic operator who is equally comfortable building long-term plans and rolling up their sleeves to test, learn, and optimize.
Core Responsibilities
Platform Strategy & Thought Leadership
- Serve as the organization’s authority on major and emerging social platforms (short-form video, visual-first, and video-centric channels), including algorithms, formats, and user behavior.
- Develop distinct, platform-native strategies that balance reach, engagement, and cultural relevance.
- Provide ongoing guidance to internal teams on how to create content that succeeds within each platform’s unique environment.
Audience Growth & Distribution
- Design and lead initiatives that extend reach beyond brand-owned handles through creators, strategic partners, and third-party distribution opportunities.
- Shape integrated organic and paid approaches that accelerate follower growth, watch time, and engagement across priority segments.
- Develop and refine tactics that improve discoverability of brand and content in a crowded, platform-driven environment.
Partnerships & Ecosystem Development
- Establish and nurture high-impact relationships with social platforms, creators, publishers, and other external collaborators.
- Identify co-marketing and amplification opportunities that position the brand at the center of cultural moments.
- Use partnerships to unlock new audience segments, expand scale, and test innovative formats or distribution models.
Social & Digital Marketing Leadership
- Oversee social strategy for campaigns across the slate, ensuring alignment with broader marketing and growth objectives.
- Shift the organization’s view of social from a promotional output to a core growth and distribution function.
- Integrate organic, paid, and influencer programs into a cohesive, results-oriented ecosystem.
Innovation & Experimentation
- Build a culture of rapid testing around creative formats, posting strategies, new products, and measurement approaches.
- Continuously scan the market for emerging trends, communities, tools, and technologies, converting insights into actionable pilots.
- Translate learnings into repeatable playbooks that raise the bar for how the organization shows up across platforms.
Platform-First Creative Strategy
- Partner closely with brand, creative, and campaign teams to develop concepts designed from the ground up for social and digital environments.
- Ensure creative assets are optimized for performance, shareability, and relevance to specific audiences and communities.
- Champion “built for distribution” thinking so that content is engineered to travel beyond initial publication.
Cross-Functional Influence
- Collaborate with campaign marketing, media, brand, and growth teams to connect social efforts with full-funnel objectives.
- Serve as a critical voice in how marketing campaigns are scaled across channels and markets.
- Provide clear guidance on how social and digital signals inform creative, media, and content decisions.
Team Building & Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing social and digital team with a bias toward innovation and measurable outcomes.
- Establish priorities, operating rhythms, and KPIs centered on reach, engagement, and audience growth.
- Foster a culture of accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in social media, digital marketing, or platform-focused growth roles, ideally within entertainment, media, or consumer brands.
- Demonstrated, hands-on expertise with major social platforms and deep understanding of how content scales and travels across them.
- Proven ability to grow audiences beyond owned channels through creators, partners, and platform initiatives.
- Experience leading relationships with influencers, creators, and platform representatives.
- Strong grasp of digital ecosystems, platform dynamics, and audience behavior across demographics and interests.
- History of building and leading teams, and driving effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Comfort operating at both strategic and tactical levels in a fast-paced, test-and-learn environment.
