We are working with a client in the toy manufacturing space seeking a Freelance Product Designer to support upcoming projects. This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented designer with experience developing consumer products—ideally within toys or licensed brands—who can bring concepts to life from ideation through production.
This is a freelance opportunity with the potential for ongoing project work.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative toy and consumer product concepts from initial idea through production
- Translate licensed brand guidelines into compelling, market-ready product designs
- Create sketches, renderings, and digital concepts for internal and client presentations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, marketing, and production teams
- Prepare production-ready files and specifications
- Iterate on designs based on feedback, timelines, and manufacturing requirements
- Stay up to date on industry trends, materials, and consumer preferences
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in product design, preferably in toys, consumer products, or CPG
- Experience working with licensed brands/products (highly preferred)
- Strong portfolio showcasing product design work from concept to final product
- Experience with packaging design is a strong plus
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop); 3D tools a plus
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and production constraints
- Excellent communication and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment
