The Digital Marketing Assistant supports the execution of Chautauqua Institution’s digital email campaigns. This role plays a key operational role in building and deploying marketing communications, maintaining campaign workflows, and ensuring that digital content is accurate, approved, and aligned with institutional standards.
The position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and familiarity with digital marketing platforms. The Digital Marketing Assistant helps ensure marketing campaigns move efficiently from planning to execution while maintaining high standards for quality and accuracy.
About Your Work Day
Email Marketing Execution
- Build and deploy marketing emails using Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Manage segmentation, scheduling, and distribution of email campaigns.
- Build and maintain automated email journeys and lifecycle communication workflows.
- Conduct quality assurance checks including formatting, links, personalization fields, and rendering prior to distribution.
Process & Workflow Management
- Manage the email approval process and ensure communications move through required review and editing steps before distribution.
- Track digital marketing requests and ensure necessary approvals have been obtained from stakeholders.
- Maintain campaign schedules and documentation related to email and digital marketing initiatives.
Content Coordination
- Incorporate copy edits and approved messaging into email communications and digital assets.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather content and confirm messaging approvals.
- Ensure content aligns with Chautauqua’s editorial standards and style guide.
Digital Marketing Support
- Assist with updates to website content and digital marketing assets as directed by the Marketing Manager.
- Support social media scheduling and coordination as needed.
- Maintain organized records of campaign materials and digital assets.
About You
Education and Experience
- Experience working with email marketing platforms or marketing automation tools (Salesforce Marketing Cloud) preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong written communication awareness and editing sensitivity
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholders
About Your Compensation
Compensation for this position starts at $21.00/Hour and, with demonstrated experience and qualifications, candidates may earn up to $23.00/Hour.

About Your Work Schedule & Location
This position is at Chautauqua Institution’s main campus in Southwestern New York (Chautauqua County). The schedule is full time and may include daytime and evening hours, weekdays, and weekends, especially in the busy summer operating season and during project go-live periods. The position will be based on the main campus in Chautauqua, New York.
About The Referral Program
Chautauqua Institution’s Referral Bonus Program is a talent solution to recruit, develop, and retain a diverse workforce that encompasses all the skills and experience necessary to deliver on our goals and objectives. Chautauqua Institution will provide a $500 referral bonus (less taxes) for active employees referring a new candidate who is hired and remains employed for at least 90-days from the first physical date of work. In the case of seasonal positions working less than 6-months, the new candidate must remain actively employed for at least 30-days from the first physical date of work and until the closing date of the season. The closing date of the season is the last Sunday in August.
