Freelance Print Production Artist (Large Format/Indoor Signage)
Location: Remote (Must be based in Atlanta or the South East)
Hours: Part-time (25 hours/week)
Status: Freelance Contract
The Role
We are seeking a highly disciplined Print Production Artist to support our design team in the execution of complex indoor signage programs. This isn't just about making things look good—it’s about technical precision, scaling, and ensuring every file that hits the printer is flawless.
You will be responsible for taking approved creative concepts and rolling them out across various indoor signage formats, from wayfinding and wall murals to hanging banners and point-of-purchase displays.
Core Responsibilities
- Production Execution: Adapt master creative across dozens of different sizes and specs for indoor environments.
- File Preparation: Build "bulletproof" press-ready files. You live for clean dielines, proper bleeds, overprint settings, and spot color management.
- Quality Control: Review proofs and prototypes to ensure color consistency and brand integrity across different substrates (vinyl, foam core, acrylic, etc.).
- Asset Management: Organize and package complex file structures for handoff to local and national vendors.
Technical Requirements
- InDesign Mastery: You must be an expert in Styles (Paragraph, Character, Object), Data Merge, and managing multi-page documents.
- Illustrator Expert: Deep knowledge of vector paths, complex layers, and working at scale (1:10 vs. full size).
- Large Format Knowledge: Familiarity with the unique requirements of indoor signage (resolution for close-range viewing vs. distance).
- The "Must-Haves": * Located in the South East (Atlanta preferred).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test (non-negotiable).
- Proven experience in a high-volume production environment.
Work Environment
- Flexible Remote: This role is primarily remote, but proximity to Atlanta is preferred for potential onsite coordination or localized team syncs.
- Part-Time Consistency: We are looking for a reliable 25 hours per week to keep our production pipeline moving smoothly.
