IngMar Medical is seeking a Freelance Technical Writer for a short-term contract assignment to support manufacturing operations. This role will focus on creating, revising, and assembling clear, concise work (build) instructions that combine written steps and visual references to support accurate and efficient production activities.
The ideal candidate can translate manufacturing processes into easy-to-follow instructions while maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and format manufacturing work (build) instructions
- Create step-by-step procedures using clear, concise language
- Assemble documents that integrate text and images (photos, diagrams, screenshots)
- Ensure instructions are easy to follow for shop-floor and manufacturing personnel
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to capture accurate process details
- Update existing work instructions to reflect process changes or improvements
- Apply document control, versioning, and formatting standards
- Ensure all documentation aligns with medical device quality and regulatory requirements
- Meet aggressive timelines within a short-term contract period
Qualifications
- Experience writing manufacturing or technical work instructions
- Ability to simplify complex processes into clear, actionable steps
- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Experience assembling documents with text and visual elements
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with SMEs in manufacturing, engineering, or quality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and similar documentation tools
Contract Details
- Duration: Approximately 4 weeks
- Hours: Project-based; may vary based on production needs
- Location: Webster, TX (onsite preferred to support manufacturing operations)
- Compensation: commensurate with experience
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
