Job Description
A contemporary apparel company is seeking
two Freelance Associate Technical Designers to support the Knits & Wovens categories for a short-term onsite assignment. We’re looking for detail-oriented technical designers who can step in quickly, manage fittings, and execute accurate technical packages in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Execute garment construction and technical development across knits and/or wovens
- Attend fittings and work closely with fit models to achieve proper fit, function, and design intent
- Create and manage tech packs, BOMs, fit comments, and image-driven corrections for vendors
- Ensure fit consistency by troubleshooting and refining patterns, specs, and grade rules
- Manage calendars and support cross-functional teams to meet development milestones
- Communicate daily with vendors to provide clear technical direction and fit updates
- Partner with design and development teams on block selection, construction, and grading
- Provide technical guidance to both internal and external partners
Qualifications
- 3–4 years of Technical Design experience
- Strong experience in at least one category: denim, soft wovens, structured wovens, or knits
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, BOM creation, and technical package development
- Ability to interpret design intent and develop effective technical solutions
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to execute design vision from concept through completion
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Open and responsive to feedback, with the ability to provide thoughtful feedback to others
