Essential Job Functions
- Support the marketing efforts of the Spiritual Formation Program, including projects related to workshops, retreats, and Biblical resources for students.
- Assist in creating, optimizing, and managing digital content across various platforms, including websites, social media, email marketing, and internal communications.
- Manage the program’s digital asset library, ensuring that media files, graphics, templates, and brand content are organized, accessible, and up to date.
- Collaborate with other Department of Spiritual Life staff on campaign planning and content calendars
- Assist in tracking key performance metrics across digital platforms and creating performance reports to inform future marketing strategy.
- Work closely with university marketing and creative services teams to maintain brand consistency and align campaigns with GCU’s institutional messaging.
- Monitor digital trends and student engagement behaviors to offer recommendations for marketing innovation and improvement.
- Support additional Spiritual Formation program responsibilities as needed and directed by Spiritual Formation Manager.
- Strong ability in creative and informative graphic design.
- Ability to write and edit engaging marketing content for digital channels with strong attention to detail and audience tone.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments.
- Creative, resourceful, and proactive in problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and stay current with marketing and communication trends.
- Passion for higher education, student integration, and mission-driven work.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Maintain a supportive role in advising Marketing Student Workers within the Spiritual Formation team.

Education And/or Experience
- Be admitted to a graduate degree seeking program at GCU. (Certificate only programs do not satisfy this requirement.)
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. (If a student is newly admitted to the University, the admission GPA is considered for this requirement.)
- Be enrolled in as a “regular” (not provisional) degree-seeking student for at least 6 graduate level units leading to the degree. (Undergraduate or audited courses do not satisfy this requirement.) Hiring departments may require a higher enrollment.
- Assistantships may be revoked at any time duties are not fulfilled satisfactorily.
- Because of the role as student and employee, graduate assistants assume responsibility for upholding the University’s Student Code of Conduct
- Graduate Assistants are eligible for waiver of tuition for the period employed. Waiver of tuition may be taxable income.
- Graduate Assistants must follow the HR employment workflow processes and pre-employment background checks.
- Graduate Assistants have restricted work hours (maximum of 29 hours per week)
- After all degree requirements for the planned program of study are met, a student is no longer eligible to receive a graduate assistantship.
- “Incomplete” grades must be removed during the period following the teaching period in which the “I” was recorded to continue the assistantship.
- Graduate Assistants are part-time employees and not eligible for GCU’s employment benefits, except those stipulated by law.
- Must pass pre-employment background investigation(s).
