About The Role
Salary (NYC, CA, NJ): $140,000 - $165,000
Salary (all other US states): $120,000 - $150,000
april, a disruptive B2B fintech start-up in the tax space, is looking for a Senior Brand Designer to evolve our brand system and craft compelling, high-impact visual assets for marketing campaigns, sales materials, and digital experiences. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping our brand as we refresh our identity for our next chapter of growth.
About You
- You think creatively and strategically about your design work, thoughtfully applying brand systems to new marketing materials with purpose and consistency.
- You enjoy presenting your work to cross-functional teams and senior leadership, clearly explaining the rationale behind your design choices.
- You have experience designing for marketing websites, including creating assets aligned with UX wireframes and existing design patterns.
- You’ve built internal tools and templates for non-designers to maintain consistency in building repeatable assets (e.g. Google Slides templates, Figma templates).
- You’re comfortable working on B2B sales presentation design, crafting visually compelling presentations and infographic-type visuals that communicate complex ideas without overused clichés (e.g., conveying AI without using a brain icon).
- You know how to manage tasks and projects efficiently, keeping track of priorities and communicating with stakeholders about timelines.
The opportunity
- Play a key role in our brand refresh, helping define and evolve our brand guidelines for this new B2B focused iteration.
- Design a wide range of marketing assets, including website visuals, newsletters, marketing emails, landing pages, sales decks, and social media.
- Manage and enhance our marketing website—experience with modern, designer-oriented CMS platforms (we use Plasmic) is a must.
- Develop creative assets for event marketing, including sponsorship activations, and branded swag—going beyond logos on merchandise to craft smart, contextual messaging that resonates with both internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with the product design team to create demo videos and product walkthroughs that support marketing and sales initiatives.
- Work closely with the content marketing team to develop compelling visual content for videos and social platforms.
- Oversee and manage a part-time freelance designer to support smaller-scale production tasks, ensuring efficiency and consistency in design output.
What we’re looking for
- 6-8 years of experience, ideally with a mix of agency roles and in-house as a graphic designer on a marketing team.
- B2B and financial services experience is a HUGE plus.
- Experience building and evolving new brand guidelines.
- Deep proficiency in Figma and other relevant design tools.
- Experience with web design and CMS platforms (we use Plasmic)
- A portfolio showcasing diverse design work across multiple mediums, demonstrating innovation, strategic thinking, and an ability to work within established brand systems.
- Bonus: Experience with video editing or animation (or a willingness to learn).
- If you’re excited to help build a growing brand and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you!
