Freelance Product Development & Design Assistant (15-25 hrs per week)

We are seeking a creative and motivated Product Development & Design Assistant to join the team. We are a Los Angeles-based fashion consulting company specializing in intimate apparel and shape wear. With expertise in product development, fit, and trend-driven design, we help brands create innovative and high-performing garments.

We are seeking a Part-Time Assistant to support our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer looking to gain hands-on experience in lingerie, shape wear, and close-to-body garment design.

Requirements:

Degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
General knowledge of garment construction and sewing techniques.
Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
Experience with Mac computers and Excel is a must.
Excellent sketching and technical drawing skills.
Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accuracy and quality.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
experience in intimates/shape wear a plus.

Responsibilities:

Assist in concept development, mood boards, and trend research.
Create detailed technical sketches in Adobe Illustrator.
Create and update detailed tech packs.
Measure samples and participate in fit sessions.
Communicate with factories and vendors on sample tracking.
Maintain fabric and trim libraries.
Maintain constant communication with clients and/or factories.
Take detailed notes and photos during fittings, and meet with factories as needed to discuss fit notes.
Ensure timely submission of comments for strike-offs, lab dips, and samples.
Provide additional support as needed.
Contribute to print and embellishment design.
Evaluate prototypes and inspect finished products to ensure they are free from defects.
