JustinBradley's client, a global leader in broadcast and streaming media, is looking for a Graphic Designer to join their team! The designer is responsible for creating bespoke art to elevate visual storytelling across their online presence and it’s off-platform audiences. This ideal candidate would work closely with editorial teams, pitching, and designing feature stories with the support of the larger Visuals team.
Job Responsibilities / Typical Day in the Role
- Experience with editorial illustrations, graphic design, feature interactive layouts, branding, identity, creative coding.
- Visual storytelling: Translate complex news stories into compelling visual experiences, ensuring that the design complements and enhances the content.
- Illustration: Create custom editorial illustrations, and visual elements to accompany articles across various verticals (e.g., breaking news, politics, travel, science).
- Graphic design: Leverage exceptional design skills to create bespoke art for digital and off-platform audiences.
- Features: Design user-friendly, responsive layouts for interactive features on web and mobile platforms that enhance reader engagement. Develop mockups, and prototypes for digital news experiences.
- Branding: Strengthen various vertical brands using newly created visual design languages
- Creative strategy: Work closely with the editorial team to conceptualize and develop visual narratives that bring stories to life. Help strategize the best ways to present news visually.
- Collaboration: Partner with writers, editors, developers, and other designers to maintain a cohesive look and feel across different platforms, while tailoring content to the medium.
- Proactive, organized, and an excellent communicator.
- Ability to handle multiple projects on tight deadlines.
- Driven to pitch and develop visual stories and concepts via multiple platforms.
Requirements:
- Adobe Creative Suite (mainly Photoshop and Illustrator)
- Figma
- Front-end development: Implement design elements using basic front-end coding (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) in collaboration with developers to ensure designs are executed properly.
- BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent work experience
