Help Us Turn Mission Into Impact

Fathers’ Rights Matter Foundation is seeking a Grant Writer who can help identify, pursue, and secure funding that expands our ability to support parents, strengthen families, and improve outcomes for children.

FRMF is a growing nonprofit built around a simple belief: children should remain at the center of decisions that affect their families.

We believe children benefit when safe, loving parents are supported. We believe fathers and mothers deserve fairness, dignity, information, and meaningful opportunities to remain connected to their children. We also believe difficult systems can be improved through compassion, data, education, collaboration, and practical solutions.

We are looking for someone who can translate that mission into compelling funding proposals—and who understands that behind every application are real families and real opportunities to create change.

The Role

As FRMF’s Grant Writer, you will help develop and manage our institutional funding strategy from prospect research through submission, award, reporting, and renewal.

You will research foundations, corporations, government programs, and other funding sources aligned with FRMF’s mission and programs.

You will also learn our work deeply enough to answer important questions:

What problem are we solving?
Who is affected?
What evidence supports the need?
What will funding allow us to accomplish?
How will we measure success?
Why is FRMF positioned to make a difference?

Then you will turn those answers into clear, credible, persuasive proposals.

What You’ll DoGrant Research & Strategy

Research private foundations, corporate giving programs, community foundations, government grants, and other funding opportunities.
Identify funders aligned with FRMF’s mission, programs, geography, and organizational capacity.
Evaluate eligibility, competitiveness, restrictions, deadlines, and strategic fit.
Build and maintain a prioritized grant pipeline.
Track funding opportunities related to families, children, parenting, mental and emotional well-being, education, legal-system navigation, community support, technology, and nonprofit capacity building.

Proposal Development

Write letters of inquiry, concept papers, proposals, applications, renewal requests, and supporting narratives.
Translate FRMF’s programs, goals, data, and community needs into compelling cases for support.
Customize proposals for individual funders while maintaining FRMF’s authentic voice.
Work with leadership and program stakeholders to gather budgets, statistics, outcomes, and supporting materials.
Develop reusable organizational language, program descriptions, impact statements, and grant-support materials.

Grant Management

Maintain a grant calendar with deadlines, reporting requirements, renewals, and follow-up activity.
Track prospective, submitted, pending, awarded, and declined grants.
Maintain accurate funder records and communications.
Ensure applications and reports are complete, accurate, compliant, and submitted on time.
Help build repeatable grant-management systems as FRMF grows.

Reporting & Impact

Prepare interim, annual, and final funder reports.
Collaborate with FRMF leadership to collect measurable program outcomes and impact data.
Turn results into clear narratives showing what funding accomplished.
Help identify what information FRMF should collect now to strengthen future applications.
Support development of meaningful performance measures and outcome tracking.

Funder Relationships

Research prospective funders and understand their priorities before applying.
Help cultivate long-term relationships with foundations and institutional funders.
Prepare materials for funder conversations and meetings.
Identify opportunities for sustainable, recurring funding relationships.

Who We’re Looking For

The right person is an excellent writer, but writing alone is not enough.

You are curious. You research before you write. You notice details. You can take a complicated issue and explain it clearly.

You understand the difference between an emotional story and an unsupported claim, and you know how to combine human experience, credible evidence, measurable outcomes, and responsible storytelling.

You can work independently, manage deadlines, ask good questions, and maintain high standards for accuracy and professionalism.

Strong candidates will bring:

Excellent persuasive, technical, and narrative writing skills.
Strong research and analytical ability.
Experience researching grants and evaluating funder fit.
Experience preparing proposals, letters of inquiry, or institutional funding requests.
Strong editing and proofreading skills.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and applications.
Comfort working with program data, budgets, and outcome information.
Strong organizational and project-management skills.
High standards for confidentiality, transparency, and ethics.
Comfort learning new software, grant portals, and productivity tools.

Experience using AI-assisted research or drafting tools is welcomed, provided you understand that human judgment, source verification, confidentiality, accuracy, and authentic writing remain essential.

Preferred Experience

2+ years of grant writing, nonprofit development, fundraising, communications, or related experience.
Demonstrated experience contributing to successful grant applications.
Experience with foundation, corporate, state, or federal grants.
Familiarity with grant budgets and nonprofit financial information.
Experience developing measurable outcomes or program-evaluation language.
Experience in family services, child advocacy, community development, behavioral health, legal-access initiatives, education, social services, or related fields.
Familiarity with New Hampshire or New England philanthropy.
Grant Professional Certified (GPC) or similar professional development is a plus.

A particular degree is not required if your experience and work demonstrate that you can succeed in this role.

Mission Alignment Matters

We are especially interested in candidates who feel a genuine connection to the work.

You may have worked in nonprofit advocacy, behavioral health, family services, education, law, research, or community development.

You may have personally seen how difficult family transitions can affect parents and children.

Or you may simply believe that children deserve healthy relationships, families deserve support, and complicated systems should become more human.

Personal experience is welcomed but never required or expected to be disclosed.

What matters is your ability to approach sensitive family issues thoughtfully, objectively, compassionately, and professionally.

Why Join FRMF?

FRMF is still building—and for the right person, that is the opportunity.

You will not simply inherit a list of grants and repeat last year’s applications. You will help build the funding infrastructure supporting the organization’s next stage of growth.

Your work may help fund:

Resources and education for parents.
Programs that strengthen parent-child relationships.
Research and data-driven initiatives.
Community partnerships and support networks.
Technology that improves access to useful resources.
Educational events and programming.
Initiatives focused on healthier families and better outcomes for children.

A successful proposal here is more than a funding transaction.

It can become a program, a resource, a partnership, or a family receiving support when they need it most.

What Success Looks Like

Success may include:

Building a qualified grant pipeline.
Establishing a reliable grant calendar and tracking system.
Identifying new funding opportunities.
Developing a strong organizational case for support.
Creating reusable grant narratives and supporting materials.
Increasing the quality and number of competitive submissions.
Building relationships with aligned funding organizations.
Improving FRMF’s measurement and communication of impact.
Securing funding that allows promising programs to grow.

We recognize that no grant writer controls a funder’s final decision. We value quality, strategy, persistence, learning, and responsible stewardship alongside dollars awarded.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume along with a short message answering:

Why does the mission of Fathers’ Rights Matter Foundation interest you, and how would your experience help us turn that mission into fundable programs and measurable impact?

We are less interested in a perfect cover letter than in finding someone who can think clearly, write exceptionally well, and believes their skills can help build something meaningful.
