About the Role

Mile Marker is looking for a mid-level freelance performance copywriter to join our creative team. You'll write conversion-focused copy across paid ads, landing pages, and email/CRM for a roster of clients, partnering closely with strategists, designers, and account leads to turn briefs into copy that performs. This is a contract role with an expected commitment of 15-30 hours per week, with flexibility based on client workload.

What You'll Do

• Write acquisition, upsell and lifecycle CRM email that aligns with strict brand guidelines to support retention and revenue goals

• Develop landing page and website copy optimized for conversion.

• Write and edit copy for direct mail programs across a range of formats

• Write and test copy for paid and organic social, iterating quickly based on performance data.

• Translate creative briefs and brand guidelines into copy across multiple client accounts and voices.

• Collaborate with designers and strategists on concepting and A/B test ideas.

• Use performance data (CTR, CVR, ROAS) to inform revisions and future copy direction.

• Manage your own workload across concurrent projects and deadlines.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of copywriting experience, with a portfolio demonstrating direct-response or performance marketing work.

• Proven ability to write for paid social, digital ads, email, and/or landing pages.

• Comfort working from data — you make strategic copy choices to help ensure we hit our clients' CTR, CVR and ROAS

• Strong grasp of brand voice adaptation; you can write in someone else's voice, not just your own.

• Experience juggling multiple clients or brands at once.

• Self-directed and deadline-driven; comfortable with a remote, freelance workflow.

• Agency or in-house creative team experience is a plus.

Engagement Details

• Contract, freelance — 20–40 hours per week, based on client volume.

• Remote.

• Reports to the Creative Director / Copy Lead.

• Compensation: hourly or project rate, commensurate with experience (details discussed during interview).
