SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING ASSISTANT (PAID, IN-PERSON)

HIP Video Promo is a music marketing company focused on music video promotion, PR, visual campaigns, content creation, and social media.

This role sits on the social media and content creation side of what we do. The focus is visual — building, shaping, and improving content that lives on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

We’re a small, hands-on team. Assistants work closely with senior staff and are involved in real, published projects from day one. This isn’t a filler role. There are real expectations and real opportunities to learn by doing.

We’re looking for one motivated Social Media Marketing Assistant who’s excited to create, wants to get better fast, and can show up consistently week to week.

The commitment is 15–20 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible, but reliability matters — we’re looking for someone present and engaged.

What you’ll spend your time doing:

Creating social media content for artists (Reels, Shorts, TikToks, posts, stories)
Designing and assembling content primarily using Canva
Assisting with short-form video editing and formatting
Helping develop content for HIP’s own social channels
Taking loose direction or mixed-quality assets and finding ways to make them engaging and effective
Handling social media posting and content distribution for HIP and our clients

You’ll be working across a wide range of clients and projects, with room to be creative in how content comes together.

You don’t need to be a pro, but this also isn’t a start-from-zero position. You should already be comfortable creating content for social media, have experience using Canva (this is the most important tool for the role), and understand basic visual pacing and layout. You should have made content intended for other people to see, and be open to feedback and iteration.

Familiarity with CapCut is helpful, but not required.

Experience with other editing or design tools is welcome if you’re motivated and adaptable. You’ll leave this role with real, published work you can add to your portfolio.

HIP operates as a small, independent team, but over the years we’ve worked with artists and partners connected to labels and distributors including Sony Music, Warner Records, Universal Music Group, and The Orchard.

Compensation & Logistics

In-person, part-time (15–20 hours per week)
Based in South River, NJ
Paid, hourly position (compensation based on experience)
There is room for growth in responsibility and compensation over time for the right person
College credit available but not required
Open to current students and recent grads
