Job Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Freelance Compliance Consultant to support and oversee our organization’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies for telemedicine and mental health services. This role will work independently while collaborating closely with leadership to assess risk, develop compliance processes, and ensure ongoing regulatory adherence.

Core Functions:

Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations applicable to the organization
Develop, review, and update compliance policies and procedures
Conduct periodic compliance audits and risk assessments
Advise leadership on compliance-related matters and regulatory changes
Investigate potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions
Provide compliance training and guidance to staff as needed
Maintain documentation and reporting related to compliance activities
Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies or external auditors, as required
Conduct research on assigned projects and advise leadership

Qualifications:

Required

Bachelor’s degree in business, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, or related field.
5+ years of compliance experience (mental health or telemedicine preferred).
Strong understanding of clinical or telehealth workflows and healthcare operations.
Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI, and telemedicine regulatory requirements.
Proven experience in a compliance, risk management, or regulatory role.
Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations within the applicable industry.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a freelance capacity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High ethical standards and attention to detail.
Write clearly, concisely, logically, and legibly.
Maintain a professional demeanor at all times..

Preferred

Experience with EHR/EMR systems, telemedicine platforms, or digital health products.
Experience working with behavioral health or mental health service providers.
CHC certification.
Experience working in a freelance or consulting capacity
Familiarity with compliance management systems and audit tools

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
