About the Role
HealthLinks Marketing is seeking an experience and driven Managing Editor to oversee all editorial operations for HealthLinks Magazine and the South Carolina Medical Association (SCMA) Magazine. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping the voice, quality, and vision of two respected South Carolina healthcare publications.

Key Responsibilities

Editorial Planning & Management: Develop and manage editorial calendars for both HealthLinks (88 pages, six issues per year) and SCMA Magazine (40 pages, two issues per year).
Content Development: Oversee story selection, article assignments, and editorial direction for all issues.
Writer Coordination: Recruit, assign, and manage freelance writers and contributors; maintain strong relationships with key sources and community partners.
Editing & Quality Control: Copy edit, proofread, and finalize all content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in tone and style.
Collaboration: Work closely with the design, production, and sales teams to align editorial content with the overall vision and brand strategy of HealthLinks Marketing.
Vision & Growth: Contribute innovative ideas to expand readership, deepen engagement, and elevate both publications as leading voices in South Carolina healthcare storytelling.

Qualifications

Proven experience in magazine editing, journalism, or related publishing roles.
Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills with sharp attention to detail.
Demonstrated leadership in managing contributors and editorial teams.
Passion for storytelling and enthusiasm for healthcare and community topics.
Ability to balance creative vision with production deadlines.
