Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Grant Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in securing funding for our organization by researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to various funding sources. This position requires excellent writing abilities, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of program development and budgeting. The Grant Writer will collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information and ensure that all proposals align with our mission and goals.

Responsibilities

Research potential grant opportunities that align with the organization's objectives.
Write compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate the need for funding and the impact of our programs.
Develop and maintain budgets for grant proposals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
Collaborate with program staff to gather relevant data and information needed for proposals.
Edit and proofread grant applications to ensure clarity, coherence, and adherence to guidelines.
Maintain organized records of submitted grants and track deadlines for reporting requirements.
Utilize databases such as Raiser’s Edge to manage donor information and track fundraising efforts.
Assist in program development by providing insights on funding opportunities and strategic alignment.

Qualifications

Proven experience in grant writing, with a successful track record of securing funding.
Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
Familiarity with budgeting processes related to grant proposals.
Experience in fundraising strategies and knowledge of nonprofit funding sources is preferred.
Proficiency in proofreading and editing written documents for accuracy and quality.
Knowledge of databases such as Raiser’s Edge is a plus but not required.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on collaboration across teams.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week
