We are seeking a gifted Senior Digital Designer experienced in both digital and traditional mediums to develop creative applications for a variety of brands, projects and initiatives. This role will be responsible for spearheading the creative process, overseeing a small design team, and producing creative assets as assigned (creative direction, light copywriting, graphic design, web design) to align with established strategic direction.
Creative work and projects will primarily be executed in digital mediums with a small percentage of projects developed for traditional media formats. In collaboration with a small but agile strategic team, this individual will also help shape the brand look, feel, tone, and voice for a variety of clients.
Ideal candidates for this position will be creative problem solvers with curiosity for new design techniques and software programs, a keen eye for aesthetics, a collaborative spirit, and be passionate about brands, marketing, and current design trends. Ideal candidates will also have the ability to work methodically, meet deadlines and translate business goals into meaningful creative executions, plus 3+ years experience in a similar role in an agency setting.
Essential functions for this position include:
- Design, create and concept across a range of programs, mediums and platforms, fulfilling brand needs and meeting deadlines as required
- Research existing brand assets, conceptualize visuals and revise work of other designers to maintain unified aesthetics and meet project or strategic requirements
- Work on multiple projects concurrently, consistently meeting deadlines
- Write, revise, edit and proofread effective copy for a variety of ad formats and mediums
- Draft mockups of logos, storyboards, ads, graphics, email templates, website designs, collateral, iconography, and other marketing materials as assigned
- Collaborate with marketing and management teams to identify effective mockups, applying feedback to adjust designs, priorities, approach and timelines as needed to develop final files
- Track and log project status, milestones and time spent to appropriate jobs in a project tracking system
- Proactively communicate project progress, issues, or other pertinent activity to account team.
- Maintain, organize and archive digital assets in a digital library
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Proven design experience and exceptional ability to bring ideas to life through effective design concepts
- Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Adaptability to work through shifting scopes, priorities and timelines
- Ability to independently manage assigned projects, workflows, and tasks to meet deadlines
- Communication skills that foster clarity, encourage questions, and promote constructive discussions.
- 3+ years of experience writing advertising copy and headlines for digital media
- 5+ years of experience designing for Web, Email, and Digital Advertising
Preferred Candidates will also have:
- Mastery of current design software and technologies (Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- 3+ years experience in a Digital Graphic Designer role at an agency or large company.
- Experience working with other designers and communicating design choices
- A working knowledge of Squarespace and WordPress CMS
- A Degree in Design, Fine Arts, or related field
- A strong portfolio of recent, proven design work
