Job Overview
We’re looking for an A/V Installation Project Manager to lead the setup of high-quality camera and video display systems across recreational sites nationwide. This role is perfect for someone with a strong background in audiovisual (A/V) installations, systems integration, and project management. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the installation and connectivity of high-resolution cameras that capture live action and giant display screens that enhance visitor experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, as you will be responsible for communicating with clients, team members, and vendors to ensure projects are successful.
Travel will be required. Travel and room expenses will be paid for.
Duties
- Project Management
- Manage all aspects of installation projects, including planning, execution, and maintenance.
- Client Communication
- Serve as the main point of contact for site stakeholders, ensuring they understand the setup process and functionality of the equipment.
- Communicate project requirements, expectations, updates and changes.
- A/V Team Coordination
- Hire and manage local A/V teams for each site, providing technical guidance and oversight to ensure quality standards and timelines are met.
- Camera Installation & Setup
- Lead the installation of high-quality cameras at designated recreational sites, ensuring optimal positioning and configuration to capture live action effectively.
- Utilize hand tools and equipment for installation tasks, including cabling and low voltage systems.
- Read and interpret schematics to guide installation processes accurately.
- System Connectivity
- Ensure each camera is properly connected to software and hardware systems, allowing for live video feed transmission to on-site monitors and display systems.
- Display Installation
- Supervise the setup of giant video displays, verifying seamless integration with the camera system and adjusting for optimal performance and visibility.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and coordinate maintenance for installed systems to minimize downtime and ensure reliable operation.
- Conduct site visits to assess project progress and resolve any issues that arise.
- Technical Documentation
- Document installation procedures, specifications, and configurations for each site, maintaining a record for future maintenance and scalability.
Experience
- 2+ years in A/V installation.
- Proficiency in installing and configuring systems like Axis or Hikvision cameras, Crestron and Extron control systems, and LED video walls from manufacturers like Daktronics or Barco.
- Familiarity with network setups for live video transmission, including PoE (Power over Ethernet) switches, RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol), and video encoders/decoders such as Teradek or Blackmagic Design products.
- Experience with camera management software like Milestone XProtect or Genetec Security Center; familiarity with OBS Studio or vMix for live video streaming is beneficial.
- Proven experience in project management.
- Ability to oversee multiple site installations concurrently, managing budgets, schedules, and contractor teams.
- Experience working in field service roles is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams and clients, explaining technical setups in non-technical terms when needed.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
