ABOUT US
The Intel Syndicate sends real-time alerts by text, push notification and email for the threats standard phone alerts miss: cyberattacks, severe weather, civil unrest, crime and active-threat incidents. Subscribers pay $3/month. We're in beta with active testers and heading to the Apple App Store.
THE ROLE
We're looking for a founding Head of Growth & Partnerships to take The Intel Syndicate from beta to 25,000+ paying subscribers and own a real piece of the company when you do. You'll put us in front of the OSINT, preparedness and intelligence community. You'll report directly to founder Jim Robbins.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Creator & partner outreach (your #1 priority)
• Build and work a target list of OSINT, preparedness, intelligence, security and emergency-management creators on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, podcasts and newsletters
• Pitch, negotiate and close creator partnerships; onboard each partner to build and promote their own Intel Syndicate page
• Run the partner program: tracking links, payouts, content calendars, and keeping partners active
• Open strategic partnerships with preparedness brands, security communities, training organizations and media outlets
Content & social
• Create and publish content for our Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and X: threat-news carousels, short-form video and app walkthroughs
• Turn real alerts into shareable proof of what the app does
• Supply partners with ready-to-post assets and hooks
Market & competitor intelligence
• Track competing alert, safety and news apps: features, pricing, positioning and reviews
• Identify the audiences and use cases with the most pull, and bring recommendations to the founder
User feedback
• Collect feedback from beta testers, subscribers and partner audiences (surveys, interviews, reviews, comments)
• Turn it into a short list of product priorities and messaging changes
Growth ownership
• Own the funnel from first view to paid subscriber, including App Store listing copy
• Report weekly on subscribers, partner pipeline, partner-sourced signups and churn
WHO YOU ARE
Must have
• 2+ years in creator partnerships, affiliate marketing, business development or partner-led growth
• Real familiarity with the OSINT, intelligence, security or preparedness creator space ideally with relationships in it already
• A track record of closing partnerships with measurable results
• Hands-on content skills: short-form video, carousels, captions (CapCut, Canva or similar)
• Comfortable being paid entirely on results, working independently and setting your own schedule
Nice to have
• Background in intelligence, military, law enforcement, emergency management or cybersecurity
• Experience growing a subscription or mobile app, including App Store optimization
• Your own audience in the space
• Experience running an affiliate platform and partner payouts
COMPENSATION
There's no salary. You earn three ways, all tied to paying subscribers:
1) Recurring commission, paid monthly
• 10% of net subscription revenue on every paying subscriber, for as long as they stay subscribed (net = after app-store fees and refunds)
• Founding boost: 20% for your first 12 months
• Paid on all subscribers, not just the ones you bring in
2) Subscriber milestone bonuses, paid at year-end (each paid once, the first year-end you reach it)
• 2,500 subscribers: $5,000
• 5,000 subscribers: $15,000
• 10,000 subscribers: $40,000
• 25,000 subscribers: $100,000
• 50,000 subscribers: $200,000
3) Equity, up to 10% of The Intel Syndicate LLC
Profits-interest units that vest by milestone: 1% at 2,500 subscribers, +2% at 10,000, +3% at 25,000, +4% at 50,000. Vesting begins after 12 months.
What it adds up to (annual commission at 10% + milestone bonus + equity vested):
• 10,000 subscribers: ~$30,600 commission + $40,000 bonus + 3% equity
• 25,000 subscribers: ~$76,500 commission + $100,000 bonus + 6% equity
• 50,000 subscribers: ~$126,000 commission + $200,000 bonus + 10% equity
Figures are illustrative run-rates, not guarantees. Subscribers are counted as paid, active subscriptions (excluding free trials, comped accounts and refunds), averaged across December.
HOW WE'LL MEASURE SUCCESS
• First 90 days: 10+ creator partners live, 2,500 paying subscribers, 5+ posts a week
• First 12 months: 10,000 paying subscribers, 30+ active partners, monthly churn under 8%
• 24 months: 25,000+ paying subscribers

LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE NOTICES
Engagement type: This is an independent-contractor engagement, not employment. You set your own hours, location, methods and tools, and you're free to work with other non-competing clients. A written agreement covering scope, commission, bonus and equity terms is signed before work begins. You'll provide a Form W-9, receive a Form 1099-NEC, and are responsible for your own taxes, insurance and business expenses. No employee benefits (health insurance, paid time off, retirement) are provided.
Worker classification: The relationship is structured to meet the federal independent-contractor standard under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the classification rules of the state where you live, including Missouri (RSMo 285.500). If your state's law requires a different structure, the agreement will be adjusted to comply before you start.
Pay transparency: Compensation is 100% commission and performance-based; there is no base pay or hourly wage. Good-faith estimate of first-year earnings: $0 to about $90,000, depending entirely on subscriber growth. Example: growing steadily to 10,000 paying subscribers by year-end earns about $30,600 in commission at the 20% founding rate plus $60,000 in milestone bonuses. This disclosure is provided for applicants in every state, including those with pay-transparency laws.
Commission payments: All commission and bonus terms are set out in writing. Earned commissions are paid monthly. When the engagement ends, all earned commissions are paid within 30 days, consistent with Missouri's sales-commission statute (RSMo 407.912).
