NOW HIRING: IN-PERSON LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS – NYC SCHOOLS
Hanson & Co. Interpreting and Consulting, LLC is currently seeking qualified in-person interpreters to support assignments within New York City public schools (DOE).
Location: New York City – In Person
Starting Pay: $30.00 per hour, with higher rates based on experience and qualifications
Schedule: Assignments available during school hours, Monday–Friday
Languages Currently Needed:
- Bengali
- Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese)
- Urdu
- Korean
We are also looking for ASL interpreters
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and professional interpretation in educational settings
- Interpret during classroom activities, school meetings, parent meetings, IEP-related meetings, and other school-based assignments as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Arrive on time and remain available for the full scheduled assignment
- Follow Hanson & Co. and NYC school policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous professional interpreting experience
- Experience interpreting in schools or educational environments is highly preferred
- Strong proficiency in English and the target language
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assignments throughout NYC
- Professional, dependable, and committed to confidentiality
Compensation:
Starting at $30/hour, based on experience, qualifications, language, and assignment requirements.
