Bilingual Social Media & Influencer Coordinator — Part-Time
Otium Nails & Lashes Lounge
Brooklyn, NY 11201 | Hybrid
Pay: $19–$25 per hour, based on experience and work samples
Schedule: Approximately 10–20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling
Employment type: Part-time, W-2
ABOUT THE ROLE
Otium is a nail and lash salon in Downtown Brooklyn focused on thoughtful service, consistent quality, and a calm client experience.
We’re looking for a bilingual Chinese-English coordinator to help manage our social media content and maintain relationships with local influencers. You’ll work directly with the founder, who sets marketing priorities and approves content.
Most of your time will be spent keeping our accounts organized and active, preparing content, and following up on influencer collaborations.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage our Instagram and TikTok content calendar, including organizing assets, preparing captions, scheduling posts, and maintaining a consistent visual style.
- Review photos and videos supplied by our nail technicians. Make edits as needed and give the team practical feedback to improve future content.
- Monitor comments and messages during agreed working hours, respond to routine inquiries using agreed guidelines, and flag anything that needs the founder’s attention.
- Maintain relationships with existing influencers, coordinate salon visits, communicate collaboration expectations, and follow up on content delivery. Identify and contact new local creators when needed.
- Keep a simple influencer tracker with account details, visit dates, content links, deliverables, and performance results. Share a brief monthly update.
- Visit the salon once a week for team coordination and content capture as needed, including salon photos, service footage, and short interviews.
OCCASIONAL SUPPORT
From time to time, help with basic website updates, email campaigns, seasonal promotions, or influencer events. These tasks will be planned around your core responsibilities and agreed weekly hours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Comfortable communicating in both Chinese and English. Chinese is used to coordinate with the founder and team; English is used for public-facing content and influencer communication.
- Strong written English for captions, messages, and outreach.
- Experience creating or managing social media content, with work samples you can explain. Personal, school, freelance, and professional projects are welcome.
- Basic photo and video editing skills using tools such as CapCut, Canva, or similar software. Familiarity with AI-assisted tools is a plus.
- Good visual judgment, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through.
- Comfortable using Excel or Google Sheets to track projects and results.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States for this position.
- Able to visit our Brooklyn salon once per week.
Students studying marketing, communications, advertising, design, or related fields are welcome to apply. A specific degree or major is not required; relevant work samples and practical skills matter most.
SCHEDULE & FLEXIBILITY
Approximately 10–20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. One on-site visit to our Brooklyn salon is required each week; the remaining work can be completed remotely.
Weekly hours and the timing of the on-site visit can be arranged together based on your availability and upcoming priorities. Social media messages and influencer follow-ups will be handled during agreed working hours.
HOW TO APPLY
Apply through Indeed with your résumé and 1–3 relevant work samples or portfolio links. For each sample, briefly explain what you personally contributed.
Please include your weekly availability, availability for the on-site visit, and earliest start date.
