About SafeGrain
SafeGrain is a long-established manufacturer serving the agriculture industry with grain quality monitoring, hazard monitoring, inventory management, and aeration solutions. Since 1954, we have helped farmers, grain elevators, processors, and other agricultural operations protect their grain, their facilities, and their people.
As we continue to expand our products and digital capabilities, we're looking for a creative, organized, and self-motivated Digital Marketing & Content Coordinator to help us tell our story, educate our markets, and consistently execute our marketing efforts.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on part-time marketing position for someone who enjoys creating content and turning ideas into finished work.
You'll help manage SafeGrain's ongoing digital marketing activities across social media, email, web, and other marketing channels. You'll work directly with company leadership and members of our sales and technical teams to turn product knowledge, customer applications, industry topics, photos, and ideas into useful marketing content.
We're not looking for someone who simply waits for a list of assignments. As you learn our products, customers, and industry, we want you to identify opportunities, suggest ideas, and increasingly take ownership of keeping our marketing calendar moving.
What You'll Do
Your responsibilities will include:
- Create and schedule content for SafeGrain's social media channels, including LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Develop graphics, photos, short-form videos, and other digital content.
- Help write and produce customer email newsletters and marketing campaigns.
- Maintain and execute an ongoing marketing and content calendar.
- Update website content, product information, news, and other marketing materials.
- Work with sales and technical team members to develop educational product and application content.
- Capture photos and video of products, employees, projects, and activities for future marketing use.
- Help develop product flyers, sales materials, presentations, and other marketing collateral.
- Repurpose existing content across multiple marketing channels.
- Track basic marketing metrics such as website traffic, social engagement, email performance, and audience/list growth.
- Research industry topics, seasonal opportunities, events, and trends that could generate relevant content.
- Help maintain consistent SafeGrain messaging and branding across marketing channels.
- Bring forward new content and marketing ideas rather than waiting for every assignment to be defined.
What We're Looking For
You don't need to know the grain industry when you start. You do need to be curious and willing to learn.
A strong candidate will have:
- Experience or demonstrated ability in marketing, communications, social media, content creation, or a related area.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to turn technical information into clear, understandable content.
- Experience creating social media graphics and other digital content.
- Familiarity with tools such as Canva or similar design platforms.
- Comfort working with social media platforms, email marketing tools, and basic website content management.
- Basic photo and video creation/editing skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions when something isn't clear.
- The initiative to identify what needs to be done and move projects forward.
Experience with agriculture, manufacturing, B2B marketing, Mailchimp, WordPress, photography, or video editing is helpful but not required.
A college degree is not required. We're more interested in your capabilities, creativity, initiative, and examples of work you've produced.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first several months, you should be developing a working understanding of SafeGrain's products, customers, and markets.
Over time, success means:
- Our marketing calendar is consistently executed without constant follow-up.
- Social media, email, and website content is produced on a regular basis.
- You can develop strong first drafts with increasingly less direction.
- You bring ideas and content opportunities to the team instead of relying solely on assigned projects.
- Our digital audience, website activity, and marketing lists continue to grow.
- Sales and company leadership have a reliable marketing resource who can turn ideas and information into finished content.
Schedule & Work Environment
This is a part-time position of approximately 15–20 hours per week.
Because learning our products and industry requires interaction with our team and access to our products and operations, on-site work is preferred, particularly during the initial learning period. There may be opportunities for some scheduling flexibility as the person becomes established in the role.
Why SafeGrain?
This isn't a position where you'll work on one small piece of a large marketing department.
You'll have the opportunity to work across multiple areas of marketing, learn a specialized industry, interact directly with company leadership, and see your work move from an idea to something customers actually see.
For someone who enjoys both creativity and ownership, the role offers an opportunity to build a meaningful body of work while helping shape how an established company presents itself to the market.
