Job Summary WeINSPIRE is looking for a Producer, Social Media, to support daily content development for a six-month consulting/freelance role. The Producer, Social Media will be responsible for the daily ideation, sourcing, and creation of social media content, including but not limited to vertical videos, user-generated content, and photography. The ideal candidate has strong skills in short-form social video editing, scripting, and a passion for all things related to Black, Brown, and Indigenous cultures and news.
This position reports directly to the CEO. Contractors will be responsible for providing their own equipment, including but not limited to laptop computers, cell phones, or any other electronic equipment required to perform their role.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage and execute content creation and social media strategy
- Create and schedule 3-4 social media posts per week
- Own end-to-end production with strong knowledge of video editing for social platforms
- Pitch and produce social-first series that elevate and expand the brand on social media
- Identify news pegs and opportunities to repromote archival stories
- Support the team with planning and project management for content initiatives
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Education: B.A. in Journalism or related field
- Required Experience: 2+ years of content creation production experience
- Preferred Experience: 2+ years of content development for Gen-Z and Millennial demographics
- Strong knowledge of design elements and principles
- Technologies: Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Asana, and/or comparable project management suite
Additional Qualifications
- Knowledge of, passion for, and experience with established and emerging social media platforms including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, Linkedin, Facebook, and Twitter
- Strong interest in viral marketing and social media trends
- Demonstrated ability to write engaging social media copy across a range of topics, and for a variety of audiences
- Experience with analytics and listening tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Independent, entrepreneurial self-starter mindset
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate project needs and timelines clearly and effectively
- High-energy, company-first, positive attitude; must be motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment
- Naturally detail-oriented, with an obsessive need to document and communicate findings
- A vibrant personality with a passion for storytelling and reporting news, comfortable being on camera
- Embracing the beauty of GIFs, memes, and diverse cultures is essential for a well-rounded perspective.

- This is a fully remote consulting/freelance position for six months.
- Candidates must be U.S.-based and authorized to work in the U.S.
- The total compensation for this role is for six months. For an estimated 10-15 hours per week, this amounts to approximately $500 per month.
