We are seeking a
Social Media Coordinator to join our
Communications team in
Boone, NC. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the role of
Social Media Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
- Develop creative, Christ-centered content for review and approval across Samaritan's Purse social platforms, including Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn, while gathering and coordinating the assets needed for effective storytelling.
- Manage social media engagement, including comments and direct messages, maintaining a consistent voice and representing the ministry with grace, accuracy, and professionalism.
- Partner closely with Marketing, Editorial, Photography, Broadcast, Operation Christmas Child, the President's Office, and other ministry teams to develop cohesive campaigns that advance Samaritan's Purse's mission.
- Support and coordinate social media channels for ministry programs such as World Medical Mission, Children's Heart Project, U.S. Disaster Relief, and Operation Heal Our Patriots, ensuring department-specific content aligns with overall ministry strategy.
- Develop and implement platform-specific campaign strategies through research, planning, asset coordination, and data analysis while staying current with social media trends and best practices.
- Other duties as assigned
What are the qualifications?
Serve with Excellence
As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field; and one (1) to two (2) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Extensive knowledge of all social media platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong writing experience, preferably
- Must be able to proofread text and make corrections in spelling, grammar, punctuation, style, and factual accuracy
- Working knowledge of marketing strategies, digital media, social media tools, resources, and analytics
