Role Description This is a contract, hybrid role based in the Sacramento, CA, area with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. The Grantwriter and Social Media Assistant (Indigenous Focused) will research funding opportunities, draft and edit grant proposals, and prepare supporting documentation that aligns with Indigenous-centered programs and priorities. The role includes coordinating grant submission timelines, tracking reporting requirements, and maintaining organized records of applications and awards. Day-to-day tasks also involve creating and scheduling social media content, monitoring engagement, and supporting digital campaigns that reflect Indigenous perspectives and community events. The individual will collaborate with program staff and leadership to ensure accurate representation of initiatives and consistent messaging across platforms.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong Communication and Writing skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and respectfully.
Candidates should possess Social Media and Social Media Content Creation skills and experience to develop engaging, culturally informed posts and updates.
Candidates should possess Social Media Marketing skills experience to help grow audience reach, increase engagement, and support campaign goals.
Experience with grant research, proposal writing, and reporting for nonprofits or community-based organizations is required
Knowledge of Indigenous communities, history, and contemporary issues, and commitment to culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices is strongly preferred.
Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation is important.
Proficiency with common office software and social media management tools; prior experience in community outreach or advocacy is a plus.
