About the Opportunity
The MAC seeks an independent contractor to provide website management and email marketing services on a project and service basis. The contractor will determine the methods, processes, and tools used to deliver services and may provide services to other clients simultaneously.
The work is expected to be completed remotely, but we prefer a contractor located in the Spokane region who values occasional in-person collaboration and relationship building.

Compensation
• Services invoiced monthly
• Annual compensation up to $40,000
• Final compensation will be based on the contractor's proposed fee structure and scope of services.

Expectations
The MAC seeks a contractor who can independently provide website content management and email marketing services. The contractor will support website updates, email campaigns, and related digital communications initiatives while determining the methods and processes used to deliver services.
Website Management
- Maintain website content through the organization's CMS
- Publish and update pages, events, news, and supporting content
- Upload and manage images, documents, and other website assets
- Recommend, coordinate, and implement website content updates aligned with seasonal exhibitions and organizational priorities.
- Ensure website content remains accurate, current, and aligned with brand standards
- Identify and resolve routine website issues within the CMS
- Coordinate with technical vendors or developers when support beyond the CMS is required
Email Marketing
- Manage and execute email marketing campaigns through Constant Contact
- Build, schedule, test, and distribute email communications
- Maintain audience lists, subscriber data, and segmentation
- Ensure communications are accurate, timely, and consistent with organizational priorities
- Monitor campaign performance and provide basic reporting and recommendations
- Support audience growth and engagement through email marketing best practices
Collaboration & Communication
- Coordinate with social media, public relations, agency, and internal stakeholders to support integrated marketing efforts
- Attend project coordination meetings as needed to support contracted services.
- Manage workload independently and communicate proactively regarding priorities, opportunities, and challenges
- Maintain professional communication regarding project status, timelines, and deliverables.
Independent Contractor Relationship
The contractor operates as an independent business and is not an employee of the MAC.
The contractor will:
- Determine their own work methods and processes.
- Provide their own equipment, technology, and workspace.
- Control the time, location, and manner in which services are performed.
- Be responsible for all applicable taxes, licenses, and insurance.
- Remain free to provide services to other clients during the term of the engagement.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Three or more years of professional experience in digital marketing, marketing communications, website management, or related work
- Experience managing email marketing campaigns using Constant Contact or a comparable platform
- Experience maintaining websites through a content management system
- Strong working knowledge of WordPress, Silverstripe or other modern CMS platforms
- Basic proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including image editing and file preparation
- Excellent written communication and proofreading skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Silverstripe CMS
- Experience working as an independent contractor, consultant, or agency professional
- Google Analytics experience
- Basic understanding of SEO and website usability principles
- Experience supporting nonprofit, arts, cultural, educational, or community-focused organizations
- Experience collaborating with multiple marketing partners and external vendors
Contractor-Provided Resources
Contractor is expected to provide their own computer equipment, internet access, and general business tools necessary to perform contracted services. Access to MAC-owned software platforms and systems will be provided as necessary for approved projects.

Successful performance of contracted services will be evaluated based on the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of agreed-upon deliverables.
