About the Role
We are looking for a Social Media and Community Manager to join our team. This is a junior role with real scope: you will own day-to-day content execution, community engagement, and creator coordination across our owned social channels, while contributing to analytics reporting and supporting paid social efforts.
You will work closely with the broader Marketing and Creative teams, translating brand direction into content that resonates with our audience across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, Facebook, and emerging platforms. This role is an ideal entry point for someone who wants to build a career in beauty and digital marketing.
You are deeply online in the best possible way. You know what is trending before it trends, you have strong instincts for what the PAT McGRATH LABS community responds to, and you bring the organizational discipline to keep a busy content calendar running on time.
What You'll Own
Content Creation & Publishing
• Manage the day-to-day publishing calendar across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, and any emerging platforms relevant to the brand.
• Write compelling, on-brand copy for captions, stories, and short-form content that reflects the voice and aesthetic of PAT McGRATH LABS.
• Collaborate with the Creative team to brief, review, and adapt visual assets for each platform and format, ensuring content is optimized for performance.
• Assist in the ideation and development of original social content concepts, including trends, campaign tie-ins, and culturally relevant moments.
Community Engagement & Moderation
• Monitor and actively engage with the brand's community across all social platforms daily, responding to comments, DMs, and mentions in the brand's voice.
• Identify and flag high-value community moments, fan content, and organic brand advocacy for amplification or response.
• Moderate comments and community interactions in accordance with brand guidelines, escalating issues as needed.
• Maintain a consistent and warm presence in the community that reflects the brand's commitment to its audience.
Influencer & Creator Coordination
• Support influencer and creator outreach and relationship management, including tracking gifting, coordinating sample requests, and maintaining contact lists.
• Assist in coordinating creator deliverables and content timelines, ensuring assets are received on time and meet brand standards.
• Monitor and track creator content performance, compiling results for review by the marketing team.
• Stay current on the creator landscape in beauty, identifying emerging talent and community voices relevant to the brand.
Analytics & Reporting
• Pull weekly and monthly performance data across all owned social channels, compiling reports on reach, engagement, follower growth, and content performance.
• Track platform trends and audience behavior, surfacing insights and recommendations to the marketing team.
• Maintain organized tracking documents for content calendars, campaign performance, and community data.
Paid Social Support
• Support the marketing team in preparing and trafficking assets for paid social campaigns, ensuring creative is delivered in the correct specifications and on time.
• Assist with basic performance monitoring of paid campaigns and flag anomalies to the appropriate team member.
What We're Looking For
• 0 to 2 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, or community management. Strong recent graduates or candidates with relevant internship experience will be considered.
• A genuine passion for beauty, makeup, and the culture surrounding prestige cosmetics. You do not have to be a makeup artist, but you need to understand and care about this world.
• Deep familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube as both a user and a content operator, including platform-specific best practices and algorithm behavior.
• Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone and voice for different contexts, formats, and audiences.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a content calendar across multiple channels simultaneously.
• Comfortable working with data and pulling basic analytics from native platform dashboards.
• Collaborative, proactive, and responsive, with the instinct to flag opportunities and issues without being asked.
• Must be based in the New York City metro area and able to commute to our NYC office regularly.
Bonus Points
• Prior experience managing social channels for a beauty, fashion, or lifestyle brand.
• Hands-on experience with social scheduling or community management tools such as Sprout Social, Later, or Dash Hudson.
• Basic photo or video editing skills for quick-turn asset adaptation (Photoshop, CapCut, or similar).
• Familiarity with TikTok Shop or social commerce from a content or community perspective.
• Experience supporting influencer programs or creator partnerships in a coordination capacity.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $55,000 to $70,000, depending on experience.
• Health, vision, and dental insurance
• 401(k) plan
• Paid company holidays and PTO
