Most social media jobs happen behind a desk.
This one doesn’t.
We’re looking for a full-time Social Media Manager to help lead the social presence for a growing family of Southern brands, including Lady May Tallow, The Lady May restaurant, Glory Bound Gyro Co., Cash Alley, our working Mississippi bee farm, and the brands we’re building next.
Every day there’s something worth sharing—a new product, a recipe coming together in the kitchen, a honey harvest, behind-the-scenes moments, events, customers, employees, or the everyday stories that make our brands what they are.
The challenge isn’t finding content.
It’s capturing it, planning it, and turning it into social media that people actually want to watch.
That’s where you come in.
About the Role
We’re not looking for someone who waits for a shot list every morning.
We’re looking for someone who naturally notices moments, comes up with ideas, understands what performs on social media, and is excited to build content before anyone asks for it.
You’ll be responsible for managing the day-to-day social media execution across multiple brands—from planning and capturing content to editing, scheduling, and continuously improving what we publish.
This role is built around planning ahead, not scrambling to figure out tomorrow’s post.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and manage social media content across multiple brands.
- Film and photograph content at our restaurants, bee farm, warehouse, events, and behind the scenes.
- Edit engaging short-form content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.
- Build and maintain a content calendar with content planned weeks in advance.
- Create and organize a content library that gives us flexibility instead of starting from scratch every day.
- Turn one filming session into multiple pieces of content with different hooks, edits, and formats.
- Create platform-specific content instead of posting the exact same thing everywhere.
- Monitor performance and use analytics to improve future content.
- Work alongside the Marketing Director to execute launches, campaigns, promotions, and seasonal marketing.
- Stay ahead of holidays, product launches, and seasonal opportunities.
- Bring fresh ideas to the table and continuously look for new stories to tell.
Who You Are
You love social media.
You’re the type of person who watches a video and immediately starts thinking about how it was filmed, why it worked, and how you’d do it differently.
You don’t need someone standing over your shoulder telling you exactly what to capture.
You naturally think:
- “We should film this.”
- “This would make a great Reel.”
- “We could turn this into three different videos.”
- “Let’s get another angle.”
- “This would make a great series.”
You’re creative, organized, and comfortable moving quickly.
You take feedback well, make revisions without getting discouraged, and aren’t afraid to try a different hook, edit, or concept until something works.
What Success Looks Like
Success isn’t measured by how many hours you’re filming.
It’s measured by whether our brands consistently have strong, intentional social media.
That means:
- Content is planned 2–3 weeks ahead.
- Every brand has a consistent presence.
- We have a growing bank of ready-to-use content.
- Seasonal campaigns are prepared before the season arrives.
- One day of filming produces multiple strong pieces of content.
- You’re constantly bringing new ideas instead of waiting for assignments.
Schedule
This is a full-time (40 hours/week), on-site position based in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
The schedule is flexible because great content doesn’t always happen Monday through Friday from 8–5.
Most weeks will include a combination of on-site content capture, editing, planning, scheduling, and collaboration. Some evenings or weekends may be part of the schedule when events, restaurant activity, or seasonal campaigns call for it. If Saturday is the best day to capture content, we’d rather you work Saturday and adjust another day during the week.
The schedule should fit the business—not the other way around.
Qualifications
We’re more interested in your portfolio and creative instincts than a specific degree.
You’ll stand out if you have:
- Experience managing business social media accounts.
- Strong videography, photography, and editing skills.
- Experience creating short-form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
- A strong understanding of current social media trends and storytelling.
- Excellent organization and time management.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between local locations.
