About KBEP
The Katie Brown Educational Program is a nonprofit organization based in Southeastern Massachusetts dedicated to preventing relationship violence and promoting healthy relationships through innovative, evidence-based education. We serve youth in grades 4–HS through direct programming and support schools and communities with professional development and outreach.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Grant Writer to help us grow and sustain our funding through the development of strong grant proposals and effective reporting. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of success securing grants from private foundations, corporations, and/or government sources, and a strong understanding of issues related to youth education, violence prevention, and nonprofit sustainability. This is a contract position with flexible hours, ideal for an independent contractor or freelance professional looking to work with a mission-driven team in a collaborative, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify local, state, and national funding opportunities aligned with KBEP’s mission and goals.
- Write compelling letters of inquiry, grant proposals, and reports tailored to each funder's requirements and priorities.
- Work closely with KBEP leadership to gather data, impact stories, and program details.
- Develop and maintain a grant calendar with deadlines, submission schedules, and reporting requirements.
- Track grant progress and outcomes to support program evaluation and reporting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience writing successful grants for nonprofit organizations.
- Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
- Ability to translate programmatic work into persuasive, funder-friendly language.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with education, youth development, or violence prevention programming a plus.
- Proficient with Google Suite and online grant platforms.
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
