Title: Marketing Specialist
Duration: 52 Weeks
Location: Sacramento, CA 95833 (Hybrid) (Remote with occasional onsite collaboration)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience in marketing communications, technical writing, or content development
- 2+ years of experience writing or editing in a regulated environment such as healthcare, health plans, insurance, or similar
- Must reside in California and be able to work long term as a Health Plan employee if converted
- Ability to occasionally come onsite for in-person team collaboration, Sacramento area preferred
- Experience with compliance-driven, member-facing, or stakeholder-facing communications
- Ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear, member-friendly communications
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple communication deliverables independently with minimal ramp-up
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience supporting health plan operations or payer communications
- Familiarity with CMS, state regulatory guidelines, HPMS, or healthcare compliance frameworks
- Experience partnering with legal, compliance, operations, marketing, and leadership teams
- Project management or vendor management experience
- Local to the Sacramento area or within reasonable commuting distance
- Experience with Medicare member materials, enrollment communications, or regulated health plan marketing
Summary / Duties:
- Health Plan is seeking a Plan Marketing Specialist contractor to support Health Plan Operations with marketing and communication projects tied to regulatory and compliance-driven deliverables.
- This role will draft, edit, finalize, and route member-facing and stakeholder communications while partnering with leadership, compliance, legal, and operations teams.
- The contractor will manage communication timelines, balance multiple priorities, and ensure materials are accurate, clear, compliant, and audience appropriate.
- Work is primarily remote, but candidates must live in California and be able to come onsite occasionally for team collaboration, with Sacramento-area candidates preferred.
- This assignment may have long-term FTE potential if performance and business needs align.
