The JB for Governor Campaign is seeking a Deputy Director of Content for the 2026 election cycle to lead the campaign’s digital content operation. This role manages the team responsible for planning, producing, and publishing content across the campaign’s digital platforms, ensuring every piece of content supports the campaign’s messaging, priorities, and audience engagement goals.

Salary range: $103,500 - $111,600
Role Overview
The Deputy Director of Content serves as the operational lead for the campaign’s content program, building systems that keep content moving from idea to publication. This role manages content planning, team workflows, cross-departmental coordination, and publishing priorities while mentoring staff and maintaining a high bar for quality, consistency, and execution.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, editor, and content strategist with strong leadership skills, sound editorial judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced political campaign.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the daily execution of the campaign's content strategy.

Develop and maintain editorial calendars across all digital channels.

Coordinate content requests from campaign leadership and department heads.

Oversee content production schedules and workflow management.

Edit and review content to ensure message consistency and quality.

Work with creative, video, and social teams to develop integrated content campaigns.

Identify storytelling opportunities from campaign events, voter interactions, and news developments.

Assist in developing long-form narrative projects and documentary-style content.

Ensure content aligns with campaign messaging and communications priorities.

Manage content approvals and publication timelines.

Track content performance and recommend adjustments to improve effectiveness.

Support rapid-response content development during major campaign moments.

Maintain content libraries and editorial planning documents.

Train and mentor junior content staff and interns.

Coordinate content production for major campaign milestones and events.

Manage relationships with freelance writers, contractors, or external content contributors as needed.

Support other campaign departments and initiatives as needed, including advance work, event coverage, and cross-departmental projects during high-priority moments.
