General Assignment Reporter in Towanda, Pa.
The Daily Review is seeking a General Assignment Reporter with a strong interest in community journalism and storytelling.
This position covers a wide range of local news, including feature stories, courthouse beats, school boards, and municipal meetings. The ideal candidate is curious, dependable, and committed to producing accurate, engaging coverage that matters to our readers.
Responsibilities include:
• Reporting and writing feature stories and daily news
• Covering courthouse proceedings, school board meetings, and municipal government
• Developing story ideas and building sources within the community
• Meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced newsroom environment
Qualifications:
• Strong writing, reporting, and organizational skills
• A basic understanding of — and genuine passion for — local journalism
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small newsroom team
• Experience with AP style is helpful
• Journalism experience or relevant education preferred, but not required for the right candidate
• Lives locally or is willing to move to the area
