SOCIAL MEDIA DIRECTOR (Hybrid)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and talented Social Media Director to join our team. In this role, you will you will lead the day-to-day social media operations for ONE/SIZE Beauty, owning channel strategy, content direction, shoot production, and team performance across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. You are a social media operator and creative leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, with a genuine passion for beauty, content, and community. You understand that the best social media does not just look good, it builds something real.
As a member of the Social Media team, you will collaborate with the Senior Social Media Manager, the Social Media Manager, the Assistant Manager of Community Management, and the Senior Manager of Creative Strategy and Experiential Marketing, reporting directly to the Executive Director of Social Media and Creative Strategy.
HYBRID: This role is classified as exempt from the Fair Labor Standard Act’s overtime requirement and is open to candidates based in the Los Angeles area. While the position is primarily remote, it follows a hybrid schedule requiring occasional in-person work at Culver City, CA 90230. The role requires working in PST hours, so candidates located on the West Coast are preferred. A reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace free from significant distractions are essential for remote work.

Strategy and Channel Leadership
- Own and drive the social media strategy across Instagram and TikTok, ensuring both channels operate with a clear vision, consistent brand voice, and platform-specific creative relevance.
- Translate business objectives and marketing priorities from the Executive Director into actionable social strategies across both platforms.
- Guide and review the content calendars and publishing cadences built by the Senior Social Media Manager and Social Media Manager, ensuring all planned content ladders up to current business initiatives, product launches, and campaign priorities.
- Stay ahead of platform trends, algorithm updates, and emerging features across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, using insights to evolve content strategy and drive growth.
Team Leadership and Development
- Directly manage the Senior Social Media Manager and Social Media Manager, providing clear direction, consistent feedback, and ongoing coaching that supports individual growth and team performance.
- Partner with the Senior Social Media Manager on her management of the Assistant Manager, Community Management, ensuring consistent standards and alignment across the full social team.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable team culture where both channel leads feel genuine ownership over their platforms and are empowered to bring their best creative thinking.
- Invest in the career development of your direct reports, identifying opportunities to stretch their capabilities, deepen their expertise, and grow into their next level.
- Contribute to hands-on execution alongside the team where needed, ensuring high-quality output while building the team's capacity to operate with increasing confidence and independence.
Content and Creative Direction
- Set the creative direction for social content across both channels, providing clear briefs and actionable feedback to ensure every piece of content is on-brand, platform-appropriate, and audience-first.
- Partner closely with the Senior Manager of Creative Strategy and Experiential Marketing to ensure social content is grounded in strong campaign concepts and aligned with the broader creative vision.
- Collaborate with the influencer and digital teams to integrate social-first thinking into campaigns from the start, ensuring content strategy is built into the plan, not bolted on at the end.
Launch and Campaign Execution
- Lead the social media workstream for product launches and campaign moments, coordinating across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube to deliver cohesive, high-impact rollouts that ladder up to the brand's commercial goals.
- Partner cross-functionally with brand, digital, influencer, and production teams to integrate social into broader marketing plans and ensure social timelines are accounted for from the beginning.
- Manage deliverables, timelines, and approvals for social content tied to launch campaigns, keeping the team on track and communicating proactively when priorities shift.
Production
- Lead end-to-end social content production, including creative development, vendor management, shoot execution, and post-production, ensuring high-quality, on-brand content.
Analytics and Performance
- Own social media reporting across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, synthesizing channel analytics and community sentiment into a clear narrative on performance, opportunities, and strategic implications.
- Present social performance and recommendations to the Executive Director on a regular cadence, bringing both the numbers and the story behind them.
- Use data to guide content strategy decisions and continuously refine what we make, how often we post, and how we show up on each platform.
Community and Brand Voice
- Help refine and protect ONE/SIZE's authentic voice across social channels, ensuring every piece of content communicates who we are and who we are for.
- Oversee community management strategy in partnership with the Assistant Manager, Community Management, ensuring our audience feels seen, heard, and valued across every touchpoint.
- Bring product education to life through social content, developing active collaboration with our founder, in-house producers, freelancers, and UGC talent.

- 6+ years of experience in social media, with at least 2 years in a people management or team lead capacity.
- Proven track record of owning social strategy across Instagram and TikTok in a fast-paced consumer brand or agency environment.
- Deep understanding of social platforms, including content formats, algorithm behavior, analytics tools, and creator culture.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop social media teams, with experience managing multiple direct reports simultaneously.
- Strong creative judgment and the ability to give clear, actionable feedback on content quality, brand voice, and platform fit.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, channels, and workstreams at once without losing attention to detail.
- A strong communicator who can translate strategy into clear direction for their team and present effectively to senior leadership.
- Passionate about beauty, content, and culture, with a genuine interest in how people consume and connect with brands on social.
- Experience with a founder-led brand is a plus.
Team Leadership & Oversight
This role directly manages two team members: the Senior Social Media Manager and the Social Media Manager. The Senior Social Media Manager also manages the Assistant Manager, Community Management, who is an indirect report to this role.
Physical Requirements
This role requires the following physical capabilities:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, twist, and squat to adjust or position equipment, cameras, or set up for events.
