About R. Nickson Interiors
R. Nickson Interiors is a full-service residential interior design firm based in Lakeland, FL, designing thoughtfully layered homes for clients across Florida, North Carolina, and beyond. We're a small, design-forward team in a season of intentional growth — refining how we show up to the people who find us, expanding our founder's voice in the design industry, and building the kind of brand presence that reflects the work we put on the walls.
About the Role
We're hiring a Brand & Marketing Coordinator to take the creative reins of how our brand communicates — across email, social, video, our podcast, and speaking stages. This isn't an execution-only role. We're looking for someone who genuinely loves marketing, gets excited about ideas, and brings a creative point of view to the table.
You'll work closely with our Founder and Principal Designer to translate our work, our process, and our voice into content people can't scroll past — and to grow her presence as a recognized voice in the residential design space through her podcast, guest appearances, speaking opportunities, and press placements.
If you live for a beautiful brand moment, see story angles in a paint swatch, and love the strategy behind getting the right person in front of the right audience, this role was built for you.
What You'll Own
Content & Brand Storytelling
- Develop and execute our monthly marketing calendar across social media, email, and blog/website content
- Translate finished projects, install days, and behind-the-scenes moments into compelling brand storytelling
- Manage and grow our social presence (Instagram primary; Pinterest, TikTok as relevant) — content planning, copywriting, scheduling, and engagement
- Capture and edit short-form video content — B-roll, in-office moments, event footage, install clips, and behind-the-scenes — for social-first formats (Reels, TikToks, Stories)
- Write and design email campaigns, newsletters, and lead-nurture sequences that sound like us
- Repurpose existing photography, video, and content into multi-platform assets so nothing we create lives only once
Podcast Production & Growth
- Support end-to-end production of our Founder's podcast on Buzzsprout — episode coordination, guest research and outreach where relevant, show notes, and episode descriptions
- Create episode promo assets — audiograms, video clips, quote graphics — and distribute across email and social
- Track listener growth and surface ideas to expand the podcast's reach and engagement
- Build a system for episode follow-up content (clips, blog summaries, social threads) so each episode works harder
Authority, PR & Visibility
- Identify and pitch our Founder for podcast guest appearances, speaking events, panels, and press features that align with our brand and audience
- Maintain a media kit, speaker one-sheet, and pitch templates that make outreach efficient and on-brand
- Manage outreach cadences and relationship follow-through with podcast hosts, event producers, editors, and journalists
- Track placements, prep talking points, and ensure each appearance is leveraged across our owned channels
Strategy & Collaboration
- Bring forward fresh marketing ideas, campaigns, and brand moments — not just execute the ones handed to you
- Collaborate with our Founder on messaging, brand voice, and creative direction
- Track and lightly report on marketing and visibility performance so we know what's working
Who You Are
- 3+ years of marketing, social media, brand, content, or PR-adjacent experience (in-house, agency, or freelance — what matters is what you've actually built)
- Naturally creative and idea-driven — you bring options to the table, not just questions
- Strong writer with a feel for tone, voice, and elevated brand language
- Comfortable shooting and editing short-form video for social — phone-quality is fine, but you have an eye for what makes good social video and you can move quickly
- Comfortable with outreach and relationship-building — warm pitching, thoughtful follow-up, and the kind of professionalism that makes editors and producers want to work with you
- Strategic about positioning — you know the difference between "any podcast" and the right podcast for the brand you represent
- Visually literate — you have an eye, and you know when something feels off-brand
- Comfortable with platforms like Squarespace, Canva, Calendly, and Buzzsprout, plus standard email marketing and social scheduling tools (or quick to learn what we use)
- Bonus: prior experience supporting a podcast (production, show notes, promo assets) — but we'll teach you our system
- Organized enough to run a calendar and a pitch tracker; flexible enough to roll with a creative business
- Lives within commuting distance of Lakeland, FL
- Loves interiors, design, or the home space — bonus, but not required
The Logistics
- Schedule: Approximately 24 hours/week, in-person at our Lakeland studio. Schedule is flexible — three full days or four shorter days both work. School-hours schedules (e.g., 8:30 AM–2:30 PM, Monday–Thursday) are genuinely welcome.
- Location: In-person, Lakeland, FL studio
- Compensation: $22–$28/hour, based on experience
- Perks: Paid time off, flexible family-friendly schedule, mileage reimbursement for work travel, and a creative seat at a growing residential design firm
- Reports to: Founder & Principal Designer
- Start Date: As soon as the right person is found
